the weisslers got a lot of press out of associating w/ brit. they wouldn't have paid a dime if it wasn't absolutely worth it to them. they are operators, and not in a good way.
she's too young for the role -- but i think she'd be fine otherwise. you wonder --where are all the triple threats today? all the dynamic new talent? they're all trying to be pop stars. well, not all, but the world has changed and the opportunites and the $$ are elsewhere these days.
I still think Rosie Perez would make an awesome Charity, Brooklyn accent and all.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
For all the folks who say it would be interesting to see Britney play the role...
The same thing could be said about a car accident. Interesting, but too many people get hurt in the process.

Personally I'm glad that she's not doing it. Having said that, I would like to think that she didn't spend all of that money without any thought of going through. And, if she did, then I don't really care so much because the Weisslers have screwed over enough people in their careers, too. Anyway, I think them approaching her in the first place was a complete publicity stunt on their part, and I think they were clearly looking at it more as a financial gain than a gain for the theatre world. She would have sold tickets. Some of her fans would come, although I do think she's becoming a little bit of a has-been, but a lot of people would go just to see if she was as bad as they expect.
