i did the show this summer.. and i was cast as it... actually the role was originally written for a guy in drag... and i spoke to the lyricist about it and he thought it was a great idea..

actually the role was originally written for a guy in drag...
Well, that'd explain why Bea Arthur was in the workshop.

hahaha...thats funny... but in all seriousness it was a concept at one time to have it be a guy in drag.. but then they decided not to... but Dick Scanlan still thinks it works as a guy or a woman so really it can be a guy or a girl!!

I was in this production with him - and it was AMAZING.
The lyricist wasn't at the performance, but the president & VP of MTI were there =D
I saw Jared (broadwayman) and Danielle (fetzles) and it was AMAZINGGGGGGGG and Jared was amazing as Mrs. Meers.

silly millie... meersie doesnt bite... RUFFFF!!!!
Is this at Stagedoor Manor?
NO! Stagedoor Manor's Mrs. Meers this summer was played by Emily Maltby (Richard Maltby's Daughter). I was there this summer (David in Company) and had many friends in Millie, but it was a traditional production, no crossdressing.

nope...french woods... actually the show works VERY well with Meers as a man.... and im not just saying that because i played it... it actually makes the reveal at the ending sooo much funnier... and it was very believable...i had people that didnt know if i was a man or a woman...it was very funny!
