"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
Disney is not "dissing" any one's talent. They are giving the wonderful Mr. Tartaglia a chance to do what he does best, enchant audiences young and old. Start cutting more Audrey, there's more to life than Academia. (is that a word?)
Johnny and the Sprites is going to have a 22 min. slot starting sometime in Nov. John is also one of the producers along with being the show's star It's really a great show, especially considering the target audience (2-4)
I watch it whenever I remember to in the summer or if I have a day off. I think it's pretty cute and I'm glad that Disney is making it into a twenty two minute show.
Johnny is so awesome. When its a hit and all of my little neighbors say "he's so cute i wanna marry him" (no really? same here!) I can say I met him :) (and then they can attempt to kill me)
Knowing personally how Playhouse Disney works, it is a surprise they chose someone who is an out gay man to host a show. Normally they are so paranoid about everything from shirt color to anyone involved in controversy.
I think it is so funny to see him on Disney. I really want to see him burst into Ave Q..."My Girlfriend who lives in Canada" on his show..haha that won't happen. I am sure he will do winderful things for Disney.

I can't wait for when it becomes a full length show! It's going to be great! He's not being dissed at all, but getting a chance to do something he really wants to and is very proud of. Now...to find a tv to watch it on...hmmmm

I didnt mean that he was dissed really, I didnt know that it was gonna be 30 minutes. I was saying he was getting dissed because he only had five minutes, and he deserved more.
I've seen the short show. It was just on TV when I woke up one morning and decided to watch it. It's actually pretty good for a five minute show and John sings a lot and that's good, so I'll probably sneak it in my tivo when it becomes a 22 min show.
