Ok, so I'm watching the episode of "The Muppet Show" with Sandy Duncan, and it hits me, she looks and sounds a lot like Betty Buckley...they're only about a year apart in age, both from Texas, both in musicals, and both amazing performers. Then, I started thinking about how Sandy is on tour, and Buckley has all but disappeared....what if they are the same person? Then I gave up the conspiracy idea, but has anyone else ever noticed this?
Maybe it's just me....and yes, I know in reputation they are totally different. But esp during "Peter Pan" does Duncan sound like her (I did some searching on the site we can't mention)...but it could totally be me.
I guess this means no more classes at T. Schrieber...
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
The person who DOES sound like Buckley (sometimes) is Alice Ripley. If you attended the show at Town Hall or have the LIVE CD they released, there are several songs where Alice sounds JUST LIKE Betty.
Yes Betty is back in Texas raising horses and is on faculty at a University. She was talking about it at her concert in the fall. She keeps a place in NYC and visits alot, but she is at home in TX. I haven't seen anything of Sandy Duncan other than Triscuit commercials, so I have nothing to add on that comparison.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Did you say that Sandy is on tour, husk_charmer? In what? I'm dying to see her perform live. I unfortunately missed her in The King & I a few years ago.
