I suppose you got this CD sampler at the Music Box as I did. The show was good...but could've been staged better. I liked the characters and the music...but thought it needed a intermission to sort of break up the story and allow the audience to think about it a bit.
You could have downloaded it as well, thats where i got my copy from.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Some marketing dude was giving them out in handfuls in the weeks preceding the show's first preview.
They were passing those things out like candy in attempt to get anyone to buy tickets, or at least just get rid of them so the marketing team could go home.
Shillsville on the streets of NYC was the marketing campaign for IN MY LIFE.
If there had been an intermission, the entire audience would have been gone by the start of Act II. Joe Brooks knew that, so he kept it at an intermissionless 2+ hours.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Sigh. Those were fun days. Every time I got out of a show in Times Square for the three months preceding In My Life's premiere, I was handed a sampler.
They gave them to me by the stack. I still have over 2 dozen, and I can't even give them out as stocking stuffers, since most of my friends know better.
