"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
I don't know CHESS enough to hate it, but I don't like most of the songs from it that I have heard, but I loooove "I Know Him So Well" and "Someone Else's Story." From shows I actually do hate: "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"-PHANTOM OF THE OPERA "Poor Unfortunate Souls"-THE LITTLE MERMAID "As If We Never Said Goodbye"-SUNSET BLVD. "Here I Am"-DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS "See,I'm Smiling," "A Summer in Ohio," "Still Hurtin," "Goodbye, Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Change You"-THE LAST 5 YEARS "When You Got It, Flaunt It"-THE PRODUCERS
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...
After the Sky.
-Into the Woods (Jack)
"When You Got It, Flaunt" LOVE LOVE LOVE that song but I had to fake laugh my whole way through The Producers. I HATED it. I may have just seen a bad cast because when I saw the movie version a few months after seeing the show I thought Nathan Lane and Matthew Brodrick were HILLARIOUS but idk I just didnt have a good experience with it.
I LOVE She's In Love and HATE Little Mermaid I LOVE Any Dream Will Do/Give Me My Colored Coat and HATE HATE Joseph I LOVE If I Were A Bell and HATE HATE HATE Guys And Dolls
"Now the best way to learn the theater, always, is to be a stage manager" - Stephen Sondheim
I'm not fond of Annie, but Easy Street is a PHENOMENAL song. By all accounts Dorothy Loudon brought the house down night after night with this tune. I believe it.
