This may be a little morose, but what deceased B'Way stars would you like to bring back from the dead and what role would you DIE to see them in?

I would bring back Lee J. Cobb to see him play Willy Loman one last time. But I also think he would be terrific as Wilbur in Hairspray!

This is a sad thread!
I would like to see Jason Raize. I saw him as Simba in Lion King and he was awesome... I can't help but think he would be fierce in in the heights!

I miss Jerry Orbach. Just generally, not for anything specific. re: Broadway Stars You'd Like To Bring Back from the Dead

Not necessarily stars but Jerome Robbins and Jonathan Larson.

I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&. "Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

All of these responses to my thread are already warming my heart. Please keep these creative yet inspiring posts coming. I just keep thinking of performers I would love to see in my favorite shows.

Yul Brynner as Mr. Darling in Mary Poppins. Maybe even The King or The Duke in Big River.
Another thing I'm dying to see is Larry Kert as Sonny in Xanadu. Maybe opposite Mary Martin?

OH NO. Bernie Mac. It may be too soon to talk about that Broadway Legend. He could replace Titus as Sebastian in Mermaid as well.

I'd like to see Raitt in a Wildhorn piece. Maybe playing Percy in Pimpernel. Or one of the generals in Civil War.

My answer to this and any related question
to Broadway stars from the past will always
be Gwen Verdon.

"Ethel Merman as Gypsy"

I'd rather see her as Rose.

I want to see Mrs. Fiske!

Seriously, there are so many. Actually, it probably would be fun to see Mrs. Fiske, but there's Kim Stanley, Laurette Taylor, Lunt and Fontanne, Pauline Lord, Alfred Drake, Gertrude Lawrence, Merman (though I did see her once), Martin, Gwen Verdon, Uta Hagen, Geraldine Page, Sophie Tucker, Ed Wynn, . . . so many.

Forget Verdon--

I want to see Buddy Hackett as The Baker in 'Into the Woods'

Judy Holliday
Anita Morris
Madeline Kahn
Virginia Vestoff

They never got the chance to finish their careers.

edited to add Laurette Taylor to see what all the fuss was about.
