Great reporting from Ms Alcindor at the NYT...the leaked "script" for Trump's visit to the African American church and pastor that's supposed to happen on Saturday.

Clinton raised a staggering $143 million in August.
After Trump's tirade Wednesday night, Rachel Maddow gave this brilliant history lesson on Trump, nativism, and our two-party system.

Yes,Trump is dope but Maddow is the Bill Oreilly of MSNBC, not objective about anything.
What a tool, you are. Rachel Maddow is NOT the equivalent of O'Reilly. Not in the least. He lies consistently; she never does.
I defy you to state one word she says in that broadcast that is untrue. Just one.
That same old tired, "Maddow is no different than O'Reilly" thing has been around for years as a way to make people who no idea what they're talking about feel like they know what they're talking about.
There is a reason why it has been around for years. It is the same reason why Fox has been known for years as the right channel. Why else do you think they used her as the model on Brain Dead for liberal biased reporter? It is shorthand. Just like Megan Kelly for Hiltys role.
When has Rachel Maddow ever lied?
She has a lot of conservatives on her show, much moreso than O'Reilly has liberals, because conservatives know she's fair, she doesn't yell, she does impeccable research, and she sticks to facts.
I think you answered your own question adamgreer - to those who live in a bubble of misinformation, the facts are perceived as lies.

Rachel's analysis of the Whig party and two party system on Wednesday was excellent.
For election-numbers junkies, Politico has this almost-too-good-to-be-true article on the various roads to a Clinton landslide:

I've been trying to stay in a "Holiday Weekend" frame of mind but I came across another opinion of what's really ongoing with the "crooked and rigged" media coverage. This time from former NBC and CNN reporter/commentator Soledad O'Brien. It angers me that "any, and I mean any", coverage or lack thereof to promote or report on white supremacy in any form is dangerous and must be called out.

Some segments of people and/or society are so quick to label and scream about Muslim brainwashing or indoctrination..."you've got to be carefully taught"...
Paul Krugman writes about how Trump is being "graded on a curve" and Hillary is being give the Al Gore treatment.
Read this and help nip this in the bud.

Sense the gushing love our candidate is stirring in the country?
Warren and FLOTUS will be campaigning for Clinton soon. Audra McDonald is also mentioned among those who will be campaigning.

Stunning. For the first time since WW2, the Dallas Morning News is endorsing a Democrat for president.

I agree this is stunning! Fair to finally see some traction on the Trump Bondi payoff and corruption! The double standard is shocking and disgraceful!
I believe the light finally being shone upon Trump/Bondi will lead to actual journalism, that rarest of beasts in today's media. The result may be timely donations by Trump to AGs around the country who were looking into Trump University. And yes, the double standard is shocking, as is the incredibly low bar by which Trump is being graded.

The phrase "looks Presidential" is a childlike way to view a candidate and it is a phrase uttered every day in print and on the TV circuit.
Many years ago I worked for a production of Gary Trudeau's Rap Master Ronnie - a hilarious and poignant spoof of Reagan - the actor always looked "Presidential"

In a very roundabout way, your [valid] point is actually an argument against Clinton and for Trump.... You realize that, right?

Care to explain? I tried using a sextant and compass, and I can't figure out how you get a pro-Trump argument out of the recent comments.
The incredibly low bar being set for Trump frightens me as we head into the debates. It's as if as long as he shows up and doesn't scream at either HRC or the moderator, he'll have surpassed expectations.
Programming note: NBC/MSNBC is holding their 'Commander-in-Chief Forum' tonight. First Clinton, then Trump, will answer questions from military/former military.

Something to watch other than rehashed news!

I am in lust with Hallie Jackson.
The Democratic candidate is still going to get my vote in November, she makes me ill, like she does most of the country.
