"Let's just hope Clinton gets to elect 2 or more to the SCOTUS before 2020."

I just read the lock for 2020 prediction, crazy.

I would normally post this article/link in the thread for the musical/comedy "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" on CW, one of my favorite shows on now. It's from Cosmopolitan today. It very adeptly describes the reality and impact of climate change, why it is so important to vote; (not only this year, but always), and why it is so important to NOT vote for Donald Trump or any other climate change deniers.

It is written by Rachel Bloom who among her other talents,is an actor, singer, writer and producer of the show. She won the Golden Globe this year for Comedy/Musical Female Performance. She's written dozens of great songs in all styles from pop to Broadway to rap to parodies ( with Fountains Of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger ). She has a huge YouTube following and the show itself features a ton of Broadway actors, singers and dancers.

I think it's a very concise explanation of the topic and a passionate request to NOT, NOT vote for Trump.

So, there it is. (also, the show is hilarious and intelligent; check it out).

Several self-proclaimed masters of the universe in my circle are almost giddy over Pence's performance last night.  They're seriously acting like Pence is the Lord and Saviour of the GOP.  One of them just sent me the Barron's piece below.

Is Mike Pence the GOP Favorite for 2020?

I get Pence's appeal to those of his ilk but am struggling to see how it goes beyond the followers of Santorum or Cruz.

omg...The Atlantic has endorsed Hillary!!!

It was as if no one, including Kaine, cared.
"

Also, Kaine had a perfect opportunity to bring it up when he was asked about a conflict between his religion and his politics (he talked about the death penalty instead; Pence didn't answer the question at all).

Many thanks to PalJoey for reminding us how terrible a human being Pence is, despite the fact that Kaine had the more annoying demeanor last night.

Many thanks to PalJoey for reminding us how terrible a human being Pence is,

Want to hear what's wrong with the two 3rd-party candidates you're considering?

Hope this storm isn't too disastrous that it effects the election with regard to turnout in hard hit areas.

The election is a month away, not this Tuesday

A hurricane can definitely cause havoc and displace people, with impact reaching well beyond a month.

Well, I've only considered one of them, and I know what's wrong with him, as well as what's not wrong with him. Also, you really have trouble taking a compliment, don't you? :)

Mike Pence is a conservative hate filled hack and I doubt that he could knock out Cruz who is smoth in the way sewer water is smooth.  They are competing for the far right hate.

But who knows anything these days.  Spewing hate without true old fashioned conservatism is what the GOP wants!

Cruz is widely disliked and seen as a selfish upstart within the GOP, unlike Pence.

Hillary becomes the first major party candidate to pen a piece for a gay newspaper, bringing up a host of LGBT issues, prominently including the violence against trans women of color.

And as president, I’ll keep fighting for LGBT rights, because — as I told the world in one of the most important speeches I gave as Secretary — they are human rights. And I won’t quit until all our laws reflect that basic reality

Worth noting that both candidates were given the same opportunity, but only Clinton responded.

Has Trump written any editorials during the campaign? Hillary's written several.

I'll add that Pence has Tea Party ties as well but he's regarded as a team player, unlike Cruz.  Pence gets conservative bonus points for being clearly eligible to hold the office of POTUS...no birther foolishness.  Cruz's 15 minutes are up.  He's all but blown any chance he had at moving into Mitch McConnell's majority (or hopefully minority) leadership post in the Senate after Mitch's upcoming ouster.

In my opinion, the ticket that would give the GOP the best chance in 2020 would be Nikki Haley and Brian Sandoval.

Before the GOP can even start dreaming of the perfect 2020 ticket, they need to make sure they won't have 17 people all clamoring for the brass ring.

Kad, that would require party discipline which was lacking in 2015-16.  I am confounded as to who the Trump supporters will follow in 2020.

Four years is a long time. Four years ago, people like Ted Cruz weren't even on the radar as being contenders in 2016.
