Has anyone seen The Goldfinch? I found it painfully slow moving and felt the 3 hours running time to be way too long.

I so wanted to love it, but found it dull, and ultimately not worth the time I invested in it. Huge disappointment.

Hustlers left me cold as well

Ad Astra was interesting but a very strange long winded movie as well

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

You can expect me to believe superman, batman exist. But don’t ask me to believe a 20 something white wall street ‘bro’ is supposed to be able to recite Sondheim’s Send In The Clowns words for words. That **** aint believable

I found Joker to be enthralling. An amazing and terrifying character study. Joaquin will at least be nominated come awards season but I could see a win.

After seeing Joker and Judy this weekend, I would add both to my list of favorites this year.

Joaquin and Renee were both terrific and I hope both are recognized come awards season.

My college friend Nick is now (sadly) a Wall Street douche-bro, but I guarantee he could recite any number of showtunes. indecision

Hustlers was too slow and too long. Loved and can never have enough of Downton Abbey.

The real joyful surprise was Booksmart which I caught on the plane. Especially loved seeing Kaitlyn Dever have fun after watching her harrowing sexual abuse survivor portrayal in Netflix' Unbelievable.

Considering the setting of the film was the 70’s, wouldn’t be shocked if the 20 something white wall street ‘bro’ knew Send In The Clowns, because of Sinatra.

So far the 2019 highlights for me are:
The Farewell
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Joker
Luce
Midsommar

Seeing JoJo Rabbit, Parasite, and The Lighthouse within the next couple of weeks. I'll report back then.

I did not like The Joker. I found it to be a cheap rip off of better films. At times it felt like a MAGA fever dream. And it had one of the worst depictions of mental illness I've seen on screen in years.

Saw JoJo Rabbit over the weekend and loved it. Not everything works but it's worth if for Roman Griffin Davis' fatastic performance.

JoJo Rabbit is easily the best movie of the year for me. Just beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, and thought provoking. The entire cast is incredible and several are worthy of Oscar noms, but especially Roman Griffin Davis who gives one of the best performances of the year. Totally my pick for Best Picture so far.

The Lighthouse was disturbing and deeply unlikeable even if it is a great movie. I kind of hated it, even if Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson give mind-blowingly phenomenal performances. Dafoe better beat shirtless Brad Pitt in Best Supporting actor.

I am desperate to see The Lighthouse. It isn't currently playing anywhere in or near my market, but fingers crossed that we get it soon.

Gemini Man was boring as, but seeing it HFR 3D was pretty special. Wasted on a awful movie.

I recently watched the Netflix originals Fractured and Eli and I think both were pretty enjoyable, for being Netflix originals. Both twists I didn’t really see coming and they had my full attention, for the most part.

The movie so far this year that has stayed with me is Hotel Mumbai. It gave me this odd feeling that I was actually in the middle of what was happening. Not an easy film to recommend based on the subject matter but personally has been the film I have spoke about the most.

One moviehouse in my area finally picked up Lighthouse. Going Sunday. Can't wait.

We still don't have Parasite, though. I'd really like to see that too.

Addams Family was dreadful - and not in the way they intended. Looking forward to Harriet and Motherless Brooklyn.

Harriet was nothing more than a tedious lifetime channel movie of the week, how something that should have been a thrilling telling of an amazing woman’s life, turned into what Hokum appeared on screen is any ones guess. But **** it was bad

I just saw Parasite as well and REALLY enjoyed it but didn’t love it as much as most. I found it a bit overlong. Definitely recommended though.

Recently saw Doctor Sleep (terrific, fantastical mashup of King and Kubrick), The Lighthouse (freaky, bold performances by Dafoe and Pattinson), and Parasite (outstanding in every respect, best I've seen in years).
