namaste, she didn't win. bammy just chose not to contest that state because he has an intense loathing of rednecks.
I have to give McCain credit for being quick to denounce some of the typical Republican foul play, although I think the media should do a better job of holding those around him accountable for what they say. It's a maddening double standard that Clinton and Obama have to explain every statement made by every acquaintance they've ever had and every dollar they've ever spent or received where McCain seems beholden to nothing and nobody.
I'm actually fairly excited to see those 527s go after Obama (they already are, and they're already not working). Can't wait to see the racist agenda smacked down on its ass. Call me crazy but I just think people are smarter these days.
huh, three times, eh? nice.
and ronin, your crazy. but also, why is it necessarily racist? simply because it's campaigning against bammy? that meme is gon' get real old real quick among the white folks who represented what was it? oh yeah, 77% of the vote in 2004.
I do believe, however, that the individuals and organizations behind the 527s have a vested interest in the outcome of the election, and may very well expect access to the administration if they are successful.
Nope. They're zealots, which is worse, much worse. They're in it for the sheer pleaure of bringing him down, same as they were about Kerry and the Clintons.
And how many friggin' times do I have to tell you people: IT'S NOT ABOUT RACISM. It's about leftism.
The 527s are not going to paint him as black--DUH!
They're going to paint him as "Too Left-Wing to be President."
Shut UP about the racism already. If he were a conservative like Colin Powell, conservatives would LOVE him.
Get it?

The media can't even be accountable for itself. I did detect some grudging respect for Hillary last night and this morning on CNN, but I'm wonder how long this will last.
So which network gives the most unbiased information?
I'm going to support obama. I'm going to vote for him.
But I will not be doing so because he's somehow not your typical politician. Because he clearly is. And I wont believe for a second that some of you actually want honest politics or fair politics. I won't believe that some of you give a damn what the true will of the people may or may not be.
Because all I hear is "the popular vote doesnt matter" "who cares what the actual vote of two states is" "we are all for a deal on these states as long as the compromise doesnt compromise our winning regardless of anything"
And that makes some you absolutely no better than the Bushies of 2000. And I should think you would know better. I'm frankly disgusted by these opinions.
And if you want to believe that all those Hillary supporters who choose McCain over Obama are racist, go on living in political dream land. Never mind that Hillary is between McCain and Obama on the centrist to liberal scale and that some people only feel comfortable voting right of Obama. Nevermind that plenty of Obama supporters would be making the same decisions because they simply despise Hillary as some despise Obama.
When some of you are capable of facing political reality, then and only then can we tackle these problems and win in November.
And enough with the race crap. Comparing Obama's demographics or chances to Dukakis, Mondale, Gore, Kerry, McGovern is NOT racist.
Having said that, I do possess the belief that Obama can overcome these obstacles.
If it makes you feel better Papa, I think you're a nut too. If you want to play the statistics game here's a breakdown of the way voting went in 2004, where Kerry won 8 million more votes than Al Gore did in 2000 but still lost to George Bush by 2%.

Terrorism was the priority issue for 19% of voters. Moral values was it for 22%. Respectively Bush won those voting blocks by 86% and 80% fresh off of "Mission Accomplished" and the gay rights movement suddenly being THE big topic. The issues that won 2004 for Bush are not only not the issues today, but the issues McCain would rather avoid.
Conversely specifically Iraq (15%), Health Care (8%), Economy (20%), all three which are huge issues this year, went for Kerry overwhelmingly.
Not even getting into race or gender demographics, I would stop trying to predict 2008 by 2004. Statistics are tricky and the electorate is changing.
It's not about the electorate across the board.
It's about the Electoral College, state by state, and how many McCain can take and how many Obama can.
Because the Electoral College is winner take all. Obama wouldn't be the nominee if the Democratic primary was winner take all.
yeah, i'm sure there's going to be tectonic shift in voting percentages by race.
year - whities
1980 - 89%
1984 - 86%
1988 - 85%
1992 - 87%
1996 - 83%
2000 - 81%
2004 - 77%
2008 - ?
What's with the obsession? Do you think every white person in the country is going to vote for McCain or something?
"I'm going to support obama. I'm going to vote for him."
Not me. He hasn't convinced me yet.

If Cry Baby can be nominated, so can Hillary.
No, if the DISNEY'S GREASE can be nominated for "best revival" then Ron Paul still has a shot.
