I thought Frankenboyfriend and his mom was more disturbing.
I love Mare Winningham so much!!
Yeah, that was really icking me out. But she really acted the f*ck out of it.
I mostly noticed how Queenie didn't need the minotaur very much . . .
LOL! Yeah, she didnt need the minotaur's "chubby".

The scene between Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates in the bedroom blew me away. Usually Lange dominates any scene she is in but Bates held her own with Lange. It was thriling to see two great actresses going up against each other.

Gross. Blech. Yuck.
Waiting for Lupone to come out on a balcony and sing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina"
Love that chair Bassett sits in
FrankenTate and Mommy grossed me out. And it takes a lot to gross me out.
But Lange is outstanding so far this season. So far it's her best yet, I think.
Me too! And we've seen a lot of gross stuff in this show.
So far, I'd give the edge to Lange's Sister Jude. But it's early days yet. Fiona is definitely more fun.
This series is where True Blood was when it started.

I quite agree. I can usually tolerate anything I see on camera but I draw the line at incest.

I really am enjoying this season more than any of the others still, although the misuse of the word "craven" early on made me cringe.
Not sure I heard it; what was it?
It's the past tense of "coven," right?

Little Edie says, "You are a selfish, craven little child, Fiona." Craven means pretty much the exact opposite of what (I assume) she was trying to say there.
Ah! I didn't hear that. So she meant "brazen," probably?

I just kind of figured the writer thought "craven" meant something to do with craving something, like Fiona craving the power of the Supreme.
I LOLed at this bit from EW's recap:
"Zoe came by to pick up Hottie Frankenstein. Misty freaked out. Misty wanted him to stay. Misty wanted Zoe to stay. Misty just wants a friend so bad, you guys. She wound up dancing by herself to Fleetwood Mac in a shack in the middle of the woods; I can't think of anything lonelier, except maybe listening to Sigur Ros and watching 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' surrounded by your cats on a spaceship after the earth blows up."

The only thing missing this season is Kate Mara.
Just caught up with the last two episodes. I loved last week's but I thought the Queenie/Minotaur thing was written so so badly.
I mean yeah it weirded me out, but that wasn't my issue. Queenie is a virgin, and feels unloved - fine, but she goes from genuinely being terrified to suddenly in a milisecond seeming to decide she wants to have sex with this fellow unloveable creature. Unless the character has a backstory of having a bull fetish or something, it just came out of nowhere and had horrible dialogue (and I guess as we found out, didn't work out well...)
Found the Halloween episode in comparison a little bit flat. However, I know in the past two years they've had two parter Halloween episodes and the second parts were always the better ones.
I'm loving the show this season, but a few things... Jessica Lange is still brilliant to watch--but I feel like all three of her roles are blurring together. That's not her fault. I also knew that Cordelia's husband would be an evil, evil man and it disappointed me--it just seems standard on this show now that any happy relationship will actually have a cheating husband.
Having been a chubby chick my whole life, I couldn't help but put together the idea of the fat girl wanting to have sex with a bull meaning she was a cow. Maybe that wasn't their intention, but it still left me with yet another level of discomfort.
That certainly didn't occur to me, but knowing Ryan Murphy, I wouldn't put it past him...
Just caught up with this week's episode, and after watching her as Fiona... am I the only one who thinks Jessica Lange would have made a great choice for the Witch in the Into the Woods film?
Nothing against Streep, but Lange just seems like a perfect fit for that role.
