I'll accept E Davies' explanation as to why she can't heal eyes or "baby making parts" though I don't think I would have thought of that on my own.
Robbie, must have been your cable feed or something--no problems here so it wasn't the show.
I know last year they talked a lot about paying homage to DePalma's 70s oeuvre, even using some of Carrie's music as well as using split screen, etc. But I loved how in this episode they used one of DePalma's famous Dressed to Kill shots (my fave of his movies) when Fiona flashbacked to seeing Myrtle sneak into the elvator using the exact same shot with her seeing her reflection in the elevator mirror just as the doors close.
it sounded something like "be in your nature"...
I definitely need to re-watch the show. There are always things I find I've missed when I read other people's comments.
Okay, so I watched the first three episodes of season 2. Lange is incredible but does the writing get...better?

"it sounded something like "be in your nature"..."
Pretty sure that's exactly what she said - as in, dead.
I am a little weirded out because a few nights ago I had a dream about Coven. In it, Cordelia's husband touched her hand and she suddenly knew everything. I started a new job this week, so I didn't have a chance to watch it until just now.
I am still digging it. I don't care at all about Marie Laveau. Her $hit bores me.
Borstal, ifyou disliked the first three episodes of Asylum, you prob won't grow into liking the series... I really enjoyed it (much more rewarding int he end than the first season) but I definitely can see where you're coming from.

I started watching with season 3, for the cast and the New Orleans setting. Those are the only things the will keep me there. The writing is awful. I can't see going back to watch the first two seasons.

Not really, but the audacity of the series is what makes it so fun to watch.
I loved when the nurse barged in to stop the argument between Fiona and killer-hubby. Because the hospital shows so much concern for its patients, yet can't seem to change any of the multitudes of flickering light bulbs that plague the building.

I assumed that was Jessica's drug and drink addled POV.
Funny no one cared about the girl who's baby was still borned. She was left alone in the room with not a Dr./nurse in sight. Now if someone started arguing then they would send a nurse in I assume.

At first, I was thinking the same thing, but the show constantly blurs the lines, so I sort of gave up on making assumptions.
I love this show, warts and all! (Get it?)
It's the only show I dvr in HD, too.

And either way they still left a screaming woman unattended beside her still born child. Of course New Orleans' main morgue apparently has no attendants and no activity happening in the daytime, so... I just go with it.

I think it does, actually. I wasn't sold on "Asylum" until the very end of I Am Anne Frank: Part 2. Then I was able to watch those five episodes again and everything clicked. The season does improve, trust me.
I enjoy this new season, even though I don't think they're particularly concerned with making sense of it. It's goofy and chaotic and that's what I like about it.
Stevie Nicks will make an appearance later this season.

I was worried I was gonna hate the last episode, because I just could not buy anything about that 1919 stuff. I bet Grace Gummer appreciated the fact the show hired even worse actresses than she to surround her and while I don't need all my old time people to talk like Downton Abbey, I don't really know that they should all talk like Valley Girls? At the very least, I would have accepted how women talked in movies and tv in the 40s and 50s, like how Lucy Ricardo always said "wonduhful."
Also, this show really has a thing for archaic pejorative words for women's anatomy, like gash and mound.
I still liked the episode, though. Zoe continues to be the dumbest person on Earth, and I still hope she doesn't turn out to be the supreme. I'm glad Madison is back. Angela Bassett still chews up and spits out every bit of scenery she comes in contact with, and I can't get enough of her. I liked the twist where we found out Delia's husband is in cahoots with Marie Laveau.

I have felt, they are just trying too hard this season to "push the limit". Losing interest really fast no matter how many celebs they throw at me. This is turning out to be the Batman of 2013.
The way they spoke in the 1919 bit really bothered me too, Phyl. I thought it sounded like really bad stage acting, or really bad college theatre acting. You know the kind where people speak they way they THINK period people speak without really knowing how they actually would have. They fall back on that stilted, proper, as you say, Downton Abby accent.
Other than that, I liked the edipsode. I really love blind Lana Banana. Up until now, I wasn't feeling her character.
I thought killing off a couple of characters was a good move, since there are SO many. They just keep bringing them back. I'll be honest, I can't stand Emma Roberts or Francis Conroy, so I was hoping they stayed gone.
Holla to the HRC flag flying over Marie's shop.
Talking of Marie Laveau, does anyone remember this song?
Bobby Bare's "Marie Laveau"

'I can't stand Emma Roberts or Francis Conroy,'
I'm hoping you mean you can't stand Francis Conroy in THIS. Cause if that's a blanket statement, I'm flying to Sweden and slapping the tit out of your mouth!

Oh god, I love her, especially in this where she's doing Crispy Harry Potter AbFab.
