That episode made me feel bad. Like, sad, sunk and hopeless.
I haven't watched it yet. That isn't much of an endorsement Namo.

It's a good episode, just glad it wasn't the season-ender.
SPOILERS:
How long ago was the overdose? Violet was there and to the best of my knowledge other people saw Violet when they picked her mom, didn't they? It's not like they could just find the body and understand what happened. I am interested in how they will try to get past this.

If she was in the house, couldn't she technically have been seen by anyone else there? The rules as to when ghosts are visible and when they are not have never been clear, but everyone who comes in that house seems to be able to see Moira and there seems to be absolutely no physical difference between the living and the dead in that house, not to mention the fact that they can also touch and carry and move things. Since Violet didn't know she was dead I think it's possible her parents may have seen her after her death. Maybe? I dunno. I don't want to think this too through because I don't expect the show to go in that much nuance about it.
Violet died in the episode after Halloween and I think the doctor said she'd missed sixteen days of school, so I guess it could be around three weeks (depending on whether or not she was skipping school before she killed herself).
ETA: I don't think I'm really answering JerseyGirl's question, now that I reread it. Are you asking how they are going to comprehend that they've seen Violet walking around after they find her body?

That all makes good sense to me, PRS. I imagine her parents did see her, just as the dad sees Tate--and for the same reason.

Ryan Murphy has (rather easily) explained about when people can see ghosts as simply that the house allows you to see what you're ready to see and when it wants you to see...
Hrmm
Anyway, it does make sense (I think Murphy in interviews seems a bit pissed that so many of us fans of the show guessed Violet was dead a few weeks back). Tate also told Violet that the ghosts couldn't hurt you and she could send them away--once she was a ghost, since it's obvious that the ghosts CAN hurt--and not be so easily sent away at whim, the living people in the house.

I admit, I kinda felt the same way. Not a bad thing in a horror show, but... (I had a similar reaction to some of the "special episodes" Murphy and Falchuk did on Nip/Tuck at least before the show completely fell apart after Season 3 and I sinmply couldn't care about anything happening on screen).
There's a somewhat interesting interview with Violet's actress: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/12/08/american-horror-story-taissa-farmiga-viole/
And as usual an interview on the episode with Murphy (I always get so annoyed reading his interviews--maybe he should let someone else be his mouth piece, but it has some interesting bits)

Wait a minute........Violet died? How did I miss that? How did she die? And why do some of the ghosts show their injuries, and others don't?
Oh wait, did we just this week find out she died? I'm just now watching last night's show.
LOL Yes. You probably should avoid this thread until after seeing the mot recent show each week :P Some of us speculated that she died, but it wasn't revealed till this week.
As for the injuries--I dunno. If Murphy says (and again I find this rule a little too easy, but oh well) that the house shows the living people what it feels they need to see, or what it wants to show them, when they're ready, or something :P So I assume, for instance, that Larry sees his children as all burned up because that's important for him to see, but it's not important to see that Travis was stabbed in the chest when he died (or later sliced up).
Or something...

Oy, this show! And three episodes in a row that didn't totally frustrate me. Make me feel depressed and gross, sure, but at least the goddamn story is moving.
I didn't watch the previews for next week, but I'm sure it's gonna be a doozy.

I fell asleep. I still have to watch it. I saw a little of it before I fell asleep on a commercial.
wow just wow.....that last scene was so sad....and Addy did tell Viven in the first episode....can't wait for next week
I think the rule for which injuries a ghost shows is only the injuries they have at the exact moment of death will show. Because it's at that point that they become a ghost. Anything that happens to the "body" after death (dismemberment, etc.) has nothing to do with the ghost, who I'd imagine has already left said body.
This is just my general impression as I haven't really been analyzing it too closely. Someone else may be able to point out any inconsistencies with that theory.
HOLY CRAP! I just watched last night's show and I have to say - that is the best one yet!
I thought it was a great episode too, Stock--interesting, spooky, and moving.
God, I love Jessica Lange. I can't tell if I loathe Quinto's performance or just the character. Either way, I guess it works.
Oh, I didn't want Constance to get her hands on the baby!!! I thought the ifanta from the opening scene looked too grownup. It didn't have a toddler head. It kind of reminded me of Nosferatu. Loved Chad in this episode--and that her realized he wouldn't/shouldn't be raising the twins with his boyfriend.
Quinto vs Lange was epic!!! I didn't want that scene to end! Also The scene when he told Violet about Tate was great...but the birthing scene took the cake as did the last scene with Violet and Tate and Vivian...this was one of those episodes that when it ended I was shocked that an hour went by so fast
Amazing episode. Next weeks session finale (insert ridiculously sad face here) looks epic.
Crap, next week is the finale? When will the new season start? And what happened to the 2nd baby? I forgot already. I'm gonna have to watch it again I think.
2nd baby came out first and it was stillborn...I wonder if it died in the house will it be a ghost too?
