I liked it, I liked the sense of the puzzle pieces all falling into place, a lot of the things that seemed like continuity errors as the series went along were pretty much accounted for and explained.
The death scene in the finale gave me the same sunk and despondent feeling I had when Violet discovered the truth about herself. I have to say I was somewhat surprised and relieved that the Harmons experienced some measure of happiness, even if it was a bit of a satire of a Lifetime Movie Network Xmas sentimentathon.
I'm glad there was a quick explanation about the second family so people can stop fretting about that (and Jordan, what they did was exactly what I was trying to get at when I was saying it wasn't going to take 10 episodes of exposition with a new family, since we were already in on it now). I also like that it essentially had three distinct endings, sort of like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

I'll definitely give it a whirl again next season. I wonder if it will be less house more Constance and hell baby.

It is time for an homage to The Omen. Or if Jessica doesn't agree to another season, The Omen 2.

Oh, I do hope they've locked Jessica in for season two. She's totally gonna win the Golden Globe.
that speech she made at the hair dressers was so creepy and uplifting if you didn't know what she was alluding too. I liked the finale and will wac next season to see where they go...I als liked that the 2 sociopaths in the house, Tate and Hayden ended up outside looking in and not getting what they really desired, love
What I learned from last night's episode
When raising the anti christ don't leave a babysitter with him, he will end up killing them and ruining your hardwood floors
I'd actually like to see them do a completely different story next season. I don't want it to be a haunted house again, I'd rather see maybe something along the lines of a serial killer / monster of some sort.
And good Lord Ryan Murphy, let's have some themed episodes next season! I want a Lady Gaga episode, a Britney episode and they most definitely need an episode where the ghosts go to New York to see WICKED.

. Murphy did say that some of the cast members will be returning (and that he's in negotiations with others, and would love Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, or Jessica Lange to return), but those that do will be playing entirely different characters/monsters/ghosts, and that the Harmon story is completely done.

Eh, it's not too surprising. I feel I remember hearing when it started that it would most likely be anthology-like. I did think that they were setting up next year with the jump at the end (maybe they were setting up an even further season)?
Murphy did say there is a clue in the last three episodes about the new setting
So... Florida?
I think it's a great idea. It's always when these stories go on too long that the writers run out of steam and things wander off track and either end up jumping the shark or turning into the meandering mess that Glee's become. Almost every series I've followed has gone on at least two seasons longer than it should have.
This way, we get a nice satisfying bite that works...and then we move on to something new. Forces them to be creative and fresh coming up with a whole new scenario from scratch. Sure we will miss the engaging brilliance that was Constance. But like they say, always leave 'em wanting more...
PRS, I'm thinking Florida, too. They said it so often in the last couple of episodes, it was like they were sponsored by the FL tourism board.
I hope the fact that Constance was limited-time-only inspires lots of awards for Lange.
So which Oscar winning actress will be in season 2? Goldie Hawn? Jodie Foster? Sally Field? Helen Hunt?
Harvey Fierstein.

Goldie Hawn would be amazeballs, but has she unofficially (or even officially) given up acting? Her last role was in The Banger Sisters almost ten years ago.
So, I guess we'll never know how the Harmons manage to hold on to that house, unless they just scare off every new family that comes in.
I hope Denis O'Hare will come back. I love him.
I saw Goldie about 2 years ago and first let me say she looks amazing. She got corrective surgery and she honest to god looks like she did 20 years ago. I asked her if she was going to make movies again and she said "Yes! I'm hoping to get back to that soon." so I'm hoping she finds the right project for her.

Solange in the movie version of Follies, maybe?
I have a question about last night's episode. In the scene where Ben was about to kill himself, he had like a vision of being saved by Vivien. Did that actually happen? It looked to me like he just imagined it and thinking about her pulled him out of his suicide reverie, but every recap I've read today writes as though she really did tell him to not kill himself.
So my question is if she really did save him then, why couldn't she (or any of the other "benevolent" ghosts) save him from Hayden and the gang that killed him?
The other thing I keep reading today is how "HOLY BABY GLEESUS, ALL QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!" and I just keep thinking, Really? Because I have about 400 questions about things work for the unliving denizens of Murder House alone.
On the topic of "benevolent" ghosts, for me the big unanswered question is Moira. Last night old Moira said something about the nature of the ghosts...indicating that some of them were nasty/evil while others, indicating herself, were just benevolently there with no ax to grind. It felt like they were putting a cap on her story. But I remember her, as she appeared to Ben, crawling around, waving her cooch in the air, persistently trying to tempt him into infidelity...not to mention feeding raw brains to Vivian.
To me this implicates her in some grander evil scheme that never was explained. Just what was her real story?

That's a good question. And speaking of Moira, even though she said something along the lines of "People see what they want to see" it still really doesn't explain why - if she died as a young woman - she'd have an older state, especially since that's what seems to be her default.
But...but I thought every question was answered!

I, personally, don't have a huge problem with the anthology idea, and I actually really like the notion of actors playing other roles.
As much as I hated the show what, two months ago?, I can't stop thinking about the finale. Like, the whole No Exit-y feel of the Harmons situation at the end. Did they banish all the other ghosts? Are they just going to scare every family that comes in there?
Also, when a ghost has a cup of tea, is it a ghost cup?
Actually a question I wondered was if the Ghosts can hide themselves from other ghosts like they can from the living. For some reason I couldn't stop wondering that after the finale.
But if they're going to start a whole new family in a whole new house, it is going to be exactly like I thought before where we're going to have to do the exact same thing over and over again with new people discovering the ghosts, the secrets etc. It'll be the same thing but with a different cast.

That question about hiding them was good, too. I was also kind of hoping that it was gonna turn out the the house was built upon the gates of Hell or something, but alas, I guess not.
I don't think the next season will necessarily we about a house, though. Actually I kind of assumed it wouldn't.
