What happened to the other baby though? Weren't there 2? I thought the one he said was stillborn was the one he gave to the lady with curly hair and he was lying about it being stillborn?
You sure it was stillborn? Only two people saw it...
I'm also still wondering if 1st baby was really stillborn. My heart broke when Violet was telling her father to keep Viv safe and away from the house. The last scene was tragic, beautiful, depressing, just wow.

Yeah, my guess was that the baby wasn't stillborn, either.
I can't tell if I loathe Quinto's performance or just the character.
I know what you mean. Those gays are the worst. Or in the parlance of this show, those fags/fruits/queers/etc are the worst.
$50 says Ryan Murphy likes to be tied up, kicked in the gut and spit on in bed while being called faggot repeatedly.
So, are we getting a new family next season?
Not that it wasn't crazy choppy before, but the show really flew off the rails for me with this episode. Vivien was barely in the last few eps, and all she did in this one was scream her guts out, so her death didnt have much of an impact. Her immediate acceptance of death also rang false. The Violet/Tate storyline has taken forever to go basically nowhere. The show has done a poor job in general of hanging on to and paying off its various threads.

After ten episodes of setup, exposition and contradictions, I'm just glad it's moving along, but I do think you make a good point.
So, surely we'll be getting a new family next season. There is only one man standing. And yeah, Viv embracing death so fast was bogus. Creepy 1920s doctor and bloody nurse just came out of nowhere and no one was really bothered that much? Interesting. And that first baby is alive.
I think the first baby was alive too.
Although it was 3 months premature, with the other twin pulling nutrients from it. In a real life scenario, it probably wouldn't have lived. It could have died and since it died in the house, would be a ghost baby forever.
Oh, boy. That was a good episode. I definitely agree that a new family makes sense but I would love if they can balance new characters with the dynamics between the ghosts and the Harmon ghosts. Plus a Vivien vs. Hayden ghost face-off would be kinda amazing.

I think a new family in season two was always in the cards. I remember reading something to that effect before it even started.
If that's true, it will be very disappointing. They're going to have to go through all the exposition again for a new family. How will it be any different than season one?

C'mon, man, it's Ryan Murphy. You know he's got it all planned out. ELOHEL
Maybe Ben will stay alive and there won't be a new family. I dunno. I just remember that before this even aired all the promo stuff was saying Ryan Murphy's original tagline was "the house wins." And I swear I read something about the possibility of it being a new family each season.
I liked the story of lsd-trippiness of the birth scene, coupled with Ben's realizing (FINALLY!) that there was some effed up stuff going on. Those cutaways where he screamed "this house!" gave me the willies.

I don't think for a second season and a new family they'd need to do the exposition, because we're all in on the secrets now.
Sorry, I don't think I was clear before. I meant we'd have to go through the new family learning all the secrets and going through the same things this family did. This early in the series it would be entirely too repetitive.

The only reason the Harmons had to learn things was so we could learn with them. But now we know. A new family could just plain be terrorized without the exposition.
Well, Connie Britton has said the original plan was for her to do one season from the beginning, she also said now she doesn't know but it's pretty clear that they seem to be looking at sort of self-contained seasons. Also, she was written off the episode before the last one so she could go get her adopted baby from Ethiopia. I feel her character was completely screwed this season, she was mainly just terrorized and then sent away. Ryan Murphy clearly hates his female characters but then again, he seems to hate the gays too.
As usual with Ryan Murphy's shows, there are a few moments of excitement/genius surrounded by crap. And as usual, I just keep watching because of the cast, or whatever.

And there we are. Since everybody's been having wildly divergent reactions, I'm really looking forward to you guys weighing in on the finale.
I thought it was pretty good. Ridiculous but compelling at the same time. I still think the first six or seven episodes could be condensed into like four or so, though. I get the need for exposition, but good lord I felt like this show was just treading water for so damn long.
