Their time line just isn't really adding up. Say Tate was 16 when he killed the kids and that was 16 years ago, had he lived, he would be 32-33ish now. She said Addie was her youngest child, so she would have to have been younger than 31. There was a picture of Tate and Addie together smiling when he looks to be about the same age he is now and She was at least in her late teens. How old was Moira then and how old is she supposed to be now? Surely she killed her more than 30 years ago. Maybe that husband wasn't the father of her children? And why has Moira aged when no one else has?
This show makes my head hurt. Maybe I should stop trying to make sense of it.
I need to re-watch last night's show. I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by the baby thing.

I wonder if they'll explain why Moira seems to be the only ghost that can look older than they were when they died. I wonder if Violet will take the initiative and look up the school shooting the kids were talking about, or if it will just be something conveniently avoided, like that the fact that Connie has never once mentioned the gimp sex.
Constance must be alive if she was able to go to the morgue and identify the body, but I may be thinking too hard on that one.
Well, it was Halloween, so technically she could have gone anywhere she wanted (at least as far as the story seems to suggest). But I do think she's probably alive.
Tate was seen in Constance's house with Constance and Moira looking through the window in an earlier episode, right? I wonder if the power of the haunted house's land maybe carries over on to her's? Who knows?
The dialogue the gays have to speak has been something of a hoot, though. "Twink Trainer." "Unprotected blowjobs." That one suprised me, because I didn't think anyone worried about using a condom for a blow job execpt me when I was a freshman in college.
I think my favorite line by the gays was, "He's a power bottom. And he loves it" Imagine being a power bottom and not loving it?

"Maybe I should stop trying to make sense of it."
Trying to make sense of a Ryan Murphy show is like trying to find meaning in a Pauly Shore movie.
I knew Tate was dead early in the episode when he and whatserfacedaughterfarmiga were talking and he was referencing a lot of 90's things like Nirvana and Pulp Fiction. The way he was talking about them was so recent I knew he had to have died around '94 which adds up to what the dead girl said.
As for not having visible wounds, is it possible that he doesn't know he's dead and therefore isn't "showing"? He really didn't seem to know what had happened to those other kids so, maybe once he realizes what he did it will show on him. Or maybe he stubbed his toe really bad and died and that's why we don't see it. As for Quinto, he was drowned (wasn't he?) So not sure what kind of wounds he would show.
Also, as far as Tate being connected to that house I'm guessing it's not only just the house but the land it's on. In a very Poltergeist way, I'm sure that will play into the story at some point.
My friend pointed out the drowning thing, so that makes sense. What about his man, though? He supposedly committed suicide. Maybe he took pills or gassed himself.
It could just be Tate's wounds aren't on his face. Could it be the wrist scars we saw in episode one?
Quinto actually got his neck twisted, so you'd think his head would be on backward, like Meryl's in "Death Becomes Her."
My memory is that Quinto was being drowned in the apple-bobbing bucket, but then his neck was twisted.
Is that right?
Oh, good question. I don't honestly remember.
I found this interview just now with Ryan Murphy. It's a weird interview...

I wonder if Tate's injuries are body wounds since he wouldn't have sex with Violet. Hmmm.
OMG, reading this thread is confusing me even more! LOL
Quinto was being drowned when his kneck was snapped. Also they were in the house before the family moved in and when it was sold to them didn't the relator say that it was a murder suicide and that the one was found in the basement and it was bad....so remember when Quinto's kneck snapped his boyfriend walked in and the rubber man just stared at him. Read the interview with Murphy that EW did he said the next episode is pivitol and we will learn alot about Tate. I am watching last nights episode again and this time I did catch the 90s references
My unsubstantiated suspicion is that the rubber suit man is the ghost of the original owner. I think it's obvious that Vivian's baby is the result of her tryst with him. The baby is clearly deformed/monster, based on the sonogram nurse's reaction.
This, added to our knowledge of his basement experiments, the Infantata, the creepy weird baby pics in the opening sequence, make me suspect that he is also the father of Constance's children. Didn't she say that three were deformed, Tate being the only one that was not? That could be the link that lets them roam freely between the two houses.
Tate said he a huge penis. I wonder how that fits into the story.
Very carefully, Betty...
Just found this thread--I'm loving the show, hubby not so much. I was wondering after we watched it last night if Ben has a connection to the house from his dark past as a teen? Interesting points about some of the ghosts being wounded and others not.

That would have been yet another unprotected blowjob!
I forgot about that scene until I saw this gif. I do love the "gay man goes after straight man" trope. So very much. /sarcasm
I just hope Vivien doesn't slip in any leftover santorum on that pretty wood floor.
OK, that HS mass murder scene just made me really sick to my stomach.
"Do you think I wanted a bloody Mexican ghost in my bathroom?" OK that was sort of funny.
That was disturbing and sad episode....but it was good...the HS shooting scene was disturbing...Jessica Lange's scene with the medium about her daughter was sooooo good
The HS mass murder thing was the most disturbing thing I saw on the show so far. It's the thinks that could happen in real life that is scarier than ghosts and monsters.

I thought it was strange that Tate didn't ask the goth girl about god before shooting her. I mean, they kind of went out of their way to point that out last week.
The brain-eating scene was great and gross. Very Rosemary's Baby.
And the medium Billie? I don't trust her.

Here's an interview with Murphy about last night's show.
The school scene was brutal to watch. Interesting that Violet has had her awakening and can see all of the ghosts. Love ghost Tate who does't remember what he did.
I was a little puzzled by Ben's treatment of Piggy guy. Especially after all the weird things that have happened in the house--dead girlfriends popping up and all.
