AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1350
Posted: 4/2/09 at 3:36pmSo, basically the 80s.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1352
Posted: 4/2/09 at 4:02pmGod, I can't imagine having the same task. I'd be singing Sugar, Sugar by The Archies.

You and me both Matt.
I just looked up songs from 1966, and nothing looked very appealing to me. Maybe some Mama's and Papa's or something?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1354
Posted: 4/2/09 at 4:28pmI'm an 80s kid. I wonder if anyone will attempt some Paula Abdul...I wouldn't.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1355
Posted: 4/2/09 at 4:30pmI'd be singing Swing Low Sweet Chariot.

I don't think anyone would DARE attempt Paula!!
(Nor should they!)

I like the idea of that theme, but it would be a lot more interesting if everyone wasn't close to the same age.
I just looked up songs from my year...what a selection. I'd be all over Whitesnake.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1358
Posted: 4/2/09 at 6:18pmOr at least the hood of their car ala Tawny Kitain......HAHAHA!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1359
Posted: 4/2/09 at 6:23pmI better not hear I'm Walking on Sunshine or 99 Red Balloons. I hated those songs the first time around.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1360
Posted: 4/2/09 at 6:26pm
Matt, my disdain for "Walking on Sunshine" is well-documented among those who know me. I hate it almost...ALMOST...as much as "What I Like About You."
Stockard, think of the possibilities! I'd love to be the hot mess who rolls around on stage as if she's on the hood of a car. What a way to leave of the competition.

I bet it will be a complete cheese-fest!!!
I doubt anyone will be busting out the Smithereens or REM. I figure it will be all the dreck from the 80's.
which there was plenty of!

jag, I would love to see that! HI-LARIOUS!
danmag, I could see Adam maybe pulling out some Depeche Mode or something? But are they later than 82? I think so.
I'd love to hear him do Under Pressure. I think that was 82?

Too bad Adam's too old to do Take On Me. That would be epic. (If I went on the show, however, I could perform it. If they were going by the year it was recorded and not the year it charted.)
Like, I wonder how they're deciding. When it was released, when it charted, or if either are acceptable.

Under pressure would be great. I would love to hear him to A-ha but wrong year
He's said he wants to sing 'Don't Stop Believin' but I think it may be ineligible because of the group song this week. Open Arms is on the list, but I'm not sure what he could do with it to make it current.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1365
Posted: 4/3/09 at 11:29amAdam was born in 1982? I would love to hear his take on Hooked on Classics.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1366
Posted: 4/3/09 at 11:41amI think I'd have a total ear-gasm if he did Under Pressure!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1368
Posted: 4/3/09 at 1:49pmGod, I hope he stays away from Journey.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#1369
Posted: 4/3/09 at 2:47pmHe'd rock out Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks as well.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1370
Posted: 4/3/09 at 3:31pmI think that would be a great move, sr4mjc. It'd be different, and he could definitely make that song work. I feel like Journey would be too obvious. "Open Arms" is way overdone on AI, and I doubt he could do "Don't Stop Believin'" after this week. "Under Pressure" would be great, but...it's really hard to keep up with David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, even if you're Adam Lambert.

I can't believe it's show night and this was on page 4!
What do you guys think they will do?

Well I've heard Adam is doing Edge of 17. Which I'm hoping is wrong unless he totally rearranges it.
I also heard Danny is doing Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I see that being a trainwreck with his spazzy dancing.
Lil I heard Let's Hear It For the Boy. Horrible choice IMO if true.
That's all I heard.
