AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#125
Posted: 1/21/09 at 10:10amI liked the Wicked guy. I liked Kai but I HATE HATE HATE the personal sad stories. Just fricken sing.

I hate the sad stories too. He had a sad story but I still think he's darling, the Robert Downey guy. He's got a lightness and a special energy. It's hard to describe but whatever it is, I hope he does well.
The laughing girl from last night grated on my nerves a bit.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#127
Posted: 1/21/09 at 11:46amomg. That laughing girl HAS TO GO! Possibly the most obnoxious contestant ever on AI.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#128
Posted: 1/21/09 at 2:14pmI LOVED Adam Lambert. He has that whole "Idol" package. Hopefully he'll get into the top 24. When does Hollywood round start? Next week or the following? I can't stand much more of these auditions...
re: AMERICAN IDOL#129
Posted: 1/21/09 at 3:05pmI have to say I was living for Akela last night. She was the crazy girl with the charts who was mispronouncing all the parts of the anatomy.

Agree with all of you.
Loved Adam, and think he's a doll.
Liked Kai and think he's a cutie too, but dislike the sob stories.
Laughing girl annoyed the crap outta me.
Akela was possibly one of the funniest things I've ever seen on Idol.

I don't remember the laughing girl. I fast-forwarded through pretty much everything but the singing. I hate the sob stories and putting people through to Hollywood just for bringing their kids or whatever. Last week, they put through Von, but not the guy with the cheerleaders who actually sang better.
But honestly, I don't know if I can get through an entire season watching Simon. He's just gross.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#132
Posted: 1/21/09 at 3:43pmI'd be able to take him seriously if he didn't have that thing on his head.

She may have been one of the funniest things, but the greatest thing (including the winners), ever seen on Idol is:

So... Adam is the CUTEST of cuties. I saw him and immediately went "god I hope that boy can sing, because he's such fantastic eye candy!" :P Then of course when I found out he was from wicked I'd no doubt he was be good- and he was!
The only thing I'd say is that he seems to tend to go into the falsetto pretty easily, and I voice like his voice might be even more lovely if he toned that down a little bit. But over all, he's great, and TOTALLY my crush for the season!
Yeah, I'm getting pretty sick of the auditions. Let's just get on to LA already!! Enough with the freaky wierdos! haha
It really is kind of strange though.. there's been some very GOOD people so far, but no one who's absolutely blown my sox off. And they're putting through a lot more mediocre people than I feel like they have in past years. But, you know, last season didn't seem too great at this point either and it ended up being my favorite season yet and we got David Cook out of it!! So, I'm not giving up hope yet :)

Posted: 1/21/09 at 8:27pmAgreed ShbrtAlley! What a voice and what a hottie.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#139
Posted: 1/21/09 at 9:24pmCan't wait to see next week in Jacksonville. My daughter knows one of the contestants who really thinks they can sing but actually has one of the wierdest voices I have ever heard! At least I know this is a legitimate audition! In Kentucky- I really liked Laneisha- the last girl, the mom with the fiance in Pensacola, Joanna-the former recording artist. Anyway, it's a shame that I can't remember their names- just their stories. I guess that's the sad part- if you don't have a good story- your're not memorable.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#140
Posted: 1/22/09 at 2:43amthere was a guy they showed for about 5 seconds almost at the end of the show that gave me goosebumps. His name was Cris Allen I think. The first goosebumps I got since David Cook last year.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#141
Posted: 1/22/09 at 10:10amwhich one was Brent Smith? Was he the piano player?

I was rolling on the floor laughing last night about that first girl with the bleach blonde hair and eye shadow who just didn't believe the judges when they told her she couldn't sing.
The funniest part was her Mother jamming out to her singing Because of You. She honestly believed her daughter could sing.

I kinda loved this.
'Idolatry': What's wrong with season 8 of 'American Idol'?

They push personal stories and pass through girls who audition in bikinis. And STILL they claim to be a singing competition. I avoid the show until Hollywood week. Some of the contestants they mock have serious emotional and/or mental disabilities. It's just not funny anymore Idol. Their "America's Funniest Home Videos" approach to their first few weeks on the air needs to be condensed to one episode.

That guy with the guitar who was crying looked just like Marco from Degrassi.
Other that... meh.. not a memorable episode
re: AMERICAN IDOL#146
Posted: 1/28/09 at 12:23pmYeah, I wasn't that impressed with last night either.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#147
Posted: 1/28/09 at 12:35pmNeither was I, Stockard. I thought they had a minimum of really bad singers as well as a minimum of good ones. The ones they put through were not very good in my opinion. A boring show.

They'd better be hiding some real stars, keeping them under wraps till Hollywood week.
Otherwise, I think this show's in trouble.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#149
Posted: 1/28/09 at 1:05pmMy daughter and I had such high expectations to see the person she knew with the very weird voice. They showed the audition in a snippet last week so we thought for sure it would be on- AND IT WASN'T! They showed a guy at the end of the show who got a ticket but we never saw his audition. His name is Chris and he made it to Hollywood week. Although I loved the shots of our city and Amelia Island, I am so disappointed that only 16 people (out of over 10,000) made it to the next round and most of them weren't even from Jacksonville!
