I'm wondering what Idol mentors they are going to have on this year. Kelly Clarkson? Chris Daughtry (please, please, please)?

jasonf the tattoos? LOL!

I to would really enjoy having Kelly or Chris be mentors this season. They need age appropriate mentors.

Does anyone remember the name of the skinny girl that kind of looked like Amy Winehouse albeit much much more attractive??

Frankie was my favorite, if I had to choose a favorite from last night. Everyone just seems so mediorce this year, but that girl is definitely a stand out.

The girl who reminded me of a cast member from HAIR was pretty good, too. I didn't love her performance, but she has a likeable personality.

Can someone please explain what was good about the "Can't Help Loving That Man" girl?

Her looks?

To me, that's all she has going for her. I did not particularly care for the song choice.

Now, I understand people are nervous and sometimes, when you're nervous, your vocal chords love to do funny things. However, there's a difference between being a great singer (while feeling slightly nervous) and just not having the chops.

Other than the reviewer over at EW.com and the judges, I haven't heard ANYONE say they liked that girl! Everyone I talked to about it today had the same reaction: "What were they thinking!?"

Why do I feel the need to see an adult film starring Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell...a thought that popped into my head tonight while watching Idol.

I'm watching the show now, and they just said yes to a girl who was off pitch for every note she sang (Feelin Good was the song).

Yes, she was the nudist who is one with the universe and always happy. I bet she annoyed the hell out of everyone in holding.

Alexis Cohen returned. She is so awkward.

The gay (?) guy in the sparkly shirt was my favorite person from the New York auditions. His talent may have been questionable but his snarkiness was entertaining!
