Here's a post-1940s question.

What "promise" did Eisenhower make when he ran for President in 1952?

Did he keep it?

"I say YOU'RE the CUTEST one. No, I say YOU'RE the CUTEST One. And we go on like that from dawn to three."

I think it's actually permanent foreign alliances...

Was that the thing where he said he was liberal with people and conservative with money and economics?

I think it is entangling AND permanent alliances.

Eisenhower's Campaign Promise Was "I Shall Fly To Korea" (and presumably end the Korean conflict).

And he DID do BOTH of those things.

Another post-1940s Question:

Which President advocated the "Trickle-Down" Theory"

What was it suppossed to accomplish?

Trickle down was Reagan, right? Cause it was also called Reaganomics or something.

I'm not sure who it was (Nixon, maybe?) but wasn't it a theory that money will eventually "trickle down" from the wealthy to the poor if so&so happens... can't rmember what so&so is, though...

***aw shucks LF***

The "trickle-down" Theory was proported by Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.

Reagan theorized that if you gave lots of financial support to Corporate America--this would boost the Economy because these companies would need to hire more people--THUS helping the Middle Class--because there would be more jobs.

It... did not work.

BTW, Hoover relied upon the advice of Corporate Leaders to get through the Depression. They advised him to do nothing, that "bad times" had a way of "working themselves out".

So while Hoover was President, he did virtualy... nothing.

What was the cause of the Mexican War?

All right, it is time for me to go sleep so that I have a good rest for the exam tomorrow. But I truly hope we can continue the studying tomorrow.

YAY! I was right about Reagan!

The Mexican war was that we wanted Texas so we said that they invaded us but they really didn't so that we could go to war with them to get texas?

Umm, didn't Polk kind of "make up" an excuse to go to war, because Americans were attacked in disputed territory, so he declared war? He wanted to expandexpandexpand...
