^ It really wasn't. Smith was fine in it but in no way was he snubbed. Much better performances this year than his. Plus, he missed the SAG nomination.....was his family really all that surprised he didn't get an Oscar nomination? ego ego ego.

They have somewhat of a point but they're so misguided and taking out their frustrations at the wrong institution. Even the phrase 'oscarssowhite' is pretty juvenile and ridiculous. Calling out Hollywood for racism would have made more sense but of course you don't see Jada doing that because she is in fact a part of hollywood and a part of the problem.

That you can't see that calling out the Oscars IS calling out Hollywood leads me to believe you have no idea what the phrase "the big picture" means either in awards terms or analysis.

It certainly doesn't mean to that to the Smiths. The Smiths are Hollywood royalty, you wouldn't have heard a peep out of them if He had gotten the nomination (which wouldn't have solved the big picture racism in Hollywood that the smiths are so "committed" to stopping). They don't give a crap about racism in Hollywood. That is pretty clear.

You're so new and you think I just jumped on a racism bandwagon? I've been doing anti-racism work for more than three decades.

Finding Namo, do you actually think the Oscars are racist for not giving Straight outta compton a best picture nomination and "snubbing" Will Smith? I've always been of the opinion that awards should give nominations to the best talent regardless of race. Of course "best talent" is incredibly subjective especially with the Oscars, but I'm having lots trouble finding ill feelings with the Academy just because they didn't nominate a film with many black actors in it.

Especially when 12 years a Slave was given Best picture and Selma was given a best picture nomination very recently.

I did see Beasts of no nation and I thought Idris was great in it but I didn't find him to be that much superior to the 5 actors nominated for Best Actor. He also just won 2 SAG awards this weekend so I'm sure he isn't torn up about it like some others are about his "snub".

Shrek3, have you read the previous nine pages of this thread? What makes you so special that you think you can flounce in at page ten and act as if you're saying something original? SMH
