I'm really hoping this isn't true. I've loved Murphy since Clueless (I'll never forget "Why should I listen to you anyway? You're a virgin who can't drive") and have always enjoyed her work. What's so strange is that last night I rented a movie of hers, Deadline. It's sitting right next to me with Murphy in a bathtub on the cover. This is so tragic.

It's on the IMDB front page...this is so sad. It's reminding me of Karen Carpenter's death--she died at 32 of cardiac arrest.

So tragic. I've always enjoyed her work.

"You sad creature."
That's really uncalled for. I had no idea who she was either until someone posted that she was the voice of Luann.
I'm so sorry about this. Such a young age to have her life end.

I loved many things she did. Wasn't she on the "The Torkelsons," when it became "Almost Home," or something like that.
This is odd because I was just looking at a thing in the tv listings about films Dakota Fanning did, and of course, I was drawn to what it said about "Uptown Girls."

Marianne2- Yes, she was on The Torkelsons: Almost Home.
This is very sad to hear. Clueless was one of the things that opened my pre-adolescent eyes to pop culture, and it holds a special place in my heart. It's a shame she died so young. She was very talented.

She would have been such a killer Roxie Hart.
Wasn't she supposed to play Sally in the CABARET revival at one point right before they decided to close it?
So so so sad.

She was also rumored to play a leading role in some movie musical that was supposed to happen...I remember reading about it a few years ago but can't remember what the project was...for some reason I think it was one of the times Didi Cohn tried to do GREASE 3?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I very, very rarely post on this board, but...
This is extremely sad and heartbreaking; she is so extremely gorgeous, and her future in Hollywood looked very bright.
Like Heath Ledger.
Too many great celebrities passing away at such young ages ... actors, actressses, singers, TV personalities...

How sad. Another talent gone too soon. I often thought she was underestimated by critics or just regular people when thinking about casting possibilities in conversations about movies.
I don't know if its been mentioned already, but she also did her own singing as the voice of Gloria in Happy Feet. I would have loved to have seen her as Elphaba in the movie instead of Lea Michele, Anne Hathaway or some of the other more frequently mentioned names. I thought she would have been wonderful at playing the harder edge of the role, with a great voice to match.

In addition to LuAnn on King of the Hill, she also voiced the pre-puberty Joseph Gribble.
After Joseph went through puberty, he was voiced by her Clueless co-star, Breckin Meyer.
