who thinks the Yankees are in serious do do
The Big Mo is with the sox. The yankees offense was so anemic the last 2 nights they made the NY Mets offense look good ( no mean feat )
If they lose the series, Torre might even be shown the door before Steinbrenner has a coronary. They would go down in history as the biggest choker since the Boston Strangler
My money is on the Bosox. You gotta be pulling for them now
I don't really care so much, but if the Sox win, maybe we can fianlly stop hearing about that stupid curse already.
well as long as David Ortiz keeps hitting with runners in scoring position I'd give the BoSox a serious upper hand. But you CAN'T pitch to the guy, he's too strong. He proved that last night, by muscling a normal pop-up to the second baseman into center-field for the game winner.

Oh, please. How quickly the bandwagon turns. My bets are still on the Yankees.
there's no bandwagon with me, plummer...I never liked the Spankees. I don't care much for Boston either...but it's all irrelevant to my contempt for George Steinbrenner and friends.

As long as we're spreading the hate, I don't particularly like Steinbrenner, but I abhor Bud Selig and his pathetic co-conspirator in pure evil, Jeffrey Loria. Disgusting, both of them, in ways that make ol' George seem downright benign nowadays.
I still love my BoSox :o) (Always have and always will)
Ortiz really is a great hitter. Can't run for crap, but a great hitter. He is strong but the Yankees have Matsui. He is good all around.
I thought it was comical that Ortiz tried to steal(or should I say that Ortiz STOLE... horrible call). That shows the Red Sox heart.
Ortiz stealing is bad...but wasn't it Johnny Damon who got thrown out by Jorge Posada?

Red Sox heart? More like really idiotic decision-making. My God, who tells a slow guy to steal in an extra-inning game?
Oh dear God, Johnny Damon has hit a Nomar slump. I don't know what is going on with him. He couldn't even BUNT last night!!!
And Bellhorn... don't even get me started. I say we bring in Pokey.
anyone would be better than Mark Bellhorn. at least you've got Schilling starting game 6.

he's got the new shoe...it's supposed to help.
while we're talking about good BoSox...how about Dave Roberts? America's favorite pinch runner.

Let's talk about everyone's favorite good luck dwarf.
was that a Dave Roberts bash?
Broadway Legend Joined: 3/4/04
No, Pedro has a good luck dwarf. A 30" Dominican man he takes to the locker room after games. Seriously.
well I'll be damned. hehe...maybe it's in case Don Zimmer attacks him again.

What'll he do? Bite his kneecaps? Reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Oh, and if that isn't proof that Pedro is insane, I don't know what is.

If the Yankees f*ck this up after being up 3-0, they deserve to lose, and Torre shown the door for his loyalty to players like Gordon and Rivera who have gotten hit hard this series again and again.

As opposed to the rest of the bullpen, which was so magnificent all year? Give me a break.
Rivera is good but please spare me the near God status he has attainned. He is only a releif pitcher my God. He choked in Game 4 so he is mortal
"...who's hurting here?"
(I hope someone out there understands that.)

Of course he's mortal. He's just a whole lot better than most other mortals. And he's one of the very, very few players who actually increase their level of play in the postseason. You know, people who are actually "clutch." Jeter isn't, and I don't think any of the other Yankees, are either. And considering how good Mo is in the regular season, saying he improves in October is seriously impressive.
Speaking of the Ynakees, there was an article in todays NY Post
They want to build a new stadium near Yankee stadium. The current stadiums outer walls would be retained as would the field ( or parts of it ) & the fences. They would build mixed use of buildings inside. The stadium would be paid for by the Yankees - meaning out of the fans hide by increased admission & concession prices )
