Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:40amThe Lion King guy made a huge mistake to sing a song like that from the movie. He used two different voices, and the song choice seemed a bit childish for "American Idol". Had he picked a more popular song, maybe he would have made it to Hollywood. The way he presented himself made him seem better suited for the Broadway stage/musical theatre, which is something Kenny Loggins pointed out. In the end, he wasn't bad, just needed a better song.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 7:51amMy favorite of the night was the girl that sang the Alicia Keys song. When she first walked in, Simon gave a "OMG, this is going to be horrible" look to the camera because of the way she looks but as soon as she opened her mouth to sing he sat straight up in his chair and paid attention to her. She didn't belt or try to be Christina or Mariah, she had the most "natural" singing voice of everyone. I was actually saying "YOU GO GIRL" to the TV last night. Out of everyone I have seen the past couple of weeks, I think she already deserves the title.

FOX’s powerhouse AMERICAN IDOL returned on a high note last week, as nearly 66 million tuned in to the Washington, DC and St. Louis audition episodes. In fact, the debut of AMERICAN IDOL 4 was the highest rated entertainment telecast of the season on ANY NETWORK among Adults 18-49 (14.0/33) AND Total Viewers (33.6 million) - bigger than any episode of CSI, Desperate Housewives, etc.
It's the highest rated entertainment telecast since last year's Friends series finale (on 5/6/04) in these measures. This marks the second highest rated telecast of AMERICAN IDOL ever in most measures, behind only the season finale of American Idol 2 and is FOX's third highest rated night ever with entertainment programming among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. Additionally, Tuesday’s AMERICAN IDOL 4 gave FOX its highest Tuesday night EVER among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 3:56pmPaula's been very short-tempered lately. On every single episode so far, she's been telling Randy and Simon to shut up non-stop. Maybe they deserve it...

I noticed that! I can understand why she's lashing out at Simon after all this time (all that pent up sexual frustration can get a girl aggro!) but what did Randy do? Man, Paula lost it in Vegas last night. About damn time.

Posted: 2/1/05 at 8:09pmWTF??? She sang 'I Could Have Danced All Night' VERY beautifully - and for VOICE ALONE she should be moved on to the next round. But to not pass her on because of LOOKS? F*CK A-IDOL!

Posted: 2/1/05 at 8:22pmWell yes, she was good. They didn't only not let her through because of looks - there's no way her voice would make it on IDOL. People wouldn't vote for her, but they did encourage her to explore theatre which she does have the perfect voice for. I'm sure her image had something to do with it - but come on - she looked like a troll. Everyone knows the business is all about looks when it really comes down to it. She wouldn't be successful on the show - she wouldn't sell CD's, and that's all part of the business aspect.
