Well tonight's performances were no where near as good as last week's. But what can you do?
Bo - Eh, not his best. No bad, but not great.
Anthony - Sweet Lord! Get this boy off the show! His "journey" will most likely end tomorrow evening.
Constantine - Not too shabby, to tell you the truth.
Nadia - She's another one that needs to go. Not nearly as good as she was in the beginning. She's losing her spark. I don't look for her to stay much longer if she continues to perform the way she has.
Vonzell - Not a big fan of this girl's work, but she's been really kicking it up a notch as of late. Good job!
Scott - He didn't do his "thing" this week. His song started out poorly and didn't get much better through out. Same as with Nadia. Should be gone in about two or three weeks.
Nikko - Another, ordinary Nikko performance. This evening he was doing his best Usher impression.
Jessica - It had to have been hard to try to top last week's "Total Eclipse of the Heart"--and she didn't even try. She opted for some Leann Rimes song that wasn't anything special.
Carrie - Give this girl her recording contract already and send everyone else home. Like Jessica, she had a lot to live up to this week after last's performance. But she hit it out of the park with "Independence Day." I'm not fan of country music, but this girl is it for me.
Anwar - Always paces himself through his songs and then hits a big note at the end. That technique, as well as Anwar, are losing their charm.

Posted: 3/29/05 at 11:57pmI thought Carrie was by far the best of the night. She is amazing. I still do not see the appeal with Anwar. His pitch was all over the place, and when he did go for the "high" notes, he yelled them. He seems like a really nice guy, so I like him for that, but a singer he is not. I used to hate Constantine at the beginning, but I seem to like him more and more.

Oh Bo. I expected more! You still rock though and can still father my children.
Oh Jessica. See above.
Anwar is really depending on his big notes now, huh. It's just getting predictible.
Nadia is really losing her charm as well. She did this song well, SO much better than last week....but it's an easy song for an alto. I can sing it, and I suck.
If Constantine would stop trying to seduce the camera, I might feel a little less icky about liking his performance.
Nikko was the same as always, only way more polished. Not bad, but he still bores me. I don't see why Paula creams herself.
Anthony...his best vocal that I've heard and he looks way better without the glasses. That said, GET OUT!!
Scott will probably be the one to go though. He has such a lovely voice, but tonight was pretty painful.
Carrie was excellent once again, but I feel no overwhelming urge to run and support her.
Now Vonzell....she really is becoming the dark horse of the competition! That was my favorite performance ever of hers and of the night. Excellent!

Posted: 3/30/05 at 7:02ammy two favorites are carrie and vonzell. Constantine sounded great last night. Scott Savol bored me to such an extent that I would rather claw out my eyes, as usual. He should leave ALREADY.

Anyone else think that the 90s had better music than those songs selected last night?
Jeesh, who is advising these people? What a dreary assortment. Even the C&W or C&W-flavored pieces were unmemorable, and there was much to choose from. (Faith Hill, etc.) I would've welcomed even the odd Celine Dion, just to inject some melody.

I agree wholeheartedly Auggie.
The strange part about this season for me, is that I have never voted for the same person twice. To me this is a bad sign. Either they are all great performers who are having off nights, or they are all mediocre, and a few are having good nights.

Carrie blew it out again last night. She stands head and shoulders above the rest.
I like Vonzell too although I think has more to do with her winning personality than it does with her singing.
I have to agree with what Simon said about Jessica Sierra. While she is one of the stronger singers in the competition, I don't think she has likability.

VONZELL!
Becomming my favorite this season! She keeps getting BETTER & BETTER!
I personally think she is better than Nadia.

Re: The likeability factor...
I feel the same way about Nikko. He's got a good voice, but I have trouble liking him, because I know that he's lived a charmed life, wanting for nothing being the son of a famous baseball player.

Posted: 3/30/05 at 1:20pmAs soon as Ryan said the 90's, my wife said, "This'll stink. The music was horrible in the 90's." I guess she was right. Carrie was the best singer, although her performance skills are non-existent. Vonzell was the best, overall. Constantine was most improved, proving that his "rock" persona is a fraud; but I still hate him and can't wait til he goes. Scott was the worst; and Anwar is beyond boring. Don't understand how anyone could enjoy him. I want Anthony and Nikko to stay. I agree with Simon about Jessica. Nadia is a first rate performer, but inconsistent, vocally. She was fine, last night.

Who do you guys think will go?
I think Scotty needs to go!!!!

Posted: 3/30/05 at 1:52pmCarrie's popularity escapes me. She's got a decent voice but she sounds exactly like about 10 or 20 other pop/country female vocalists. There's not an ounce of originality there. She's so mid-west wholesome, middle of the road. She's a gigantic bore. That said, she'll probably win, for the same reason that Jeff Foxworthy is the #1 best-selling stand-up comic of all time, Hee Haw was one of the longest running shows in syndication, and Dubya is still in the White House.

I am certain that there are many people in blue states voting for her too.
Since American Idol can make up disparaging histories about its contracted contestants, lets try this: Someone found Carrie's frequent abortion card for Dr. Suckalots on the sidewalk, apparently she's on 8 and her 10th is free.

#700The Nineties sounded better than that, folks.
Posted: 3/30/05 at 9:29pmI have no idea. But if we trace his and Nikko's bank accounts I'm sure we'll see that they're both paying the same person.
