If I could have it my way, Ace would do something for me.

I don't see the Elliot thing... adequate singer, kinda funny looking, nice guy, whatev. Vote for Katherine.

...when you aren't voting for Ace.

I think they should give Ace his own show where he doesn't sing. He just walks around in sleeveless shirts, and sometimes takes them off.

I can see why you and others think he's hot. Just some people like the stereotypical pretty boy and some like the funny looking cutie pie.

At least my choice CAN sing! Ha! American Idol Predictions :P

Ace's appeal is mostly in his hair for me, I think.

Elliott is just... sweet. He's got that "Aw, shucks" kind of cuteness, and maybe it was just a fluke, but his last performance was truly a standout.

Bucky or Ace going was a flip of the coin, so either one going home I thought was the right choice.

Like everyone else, I was shocked that Elliot was in the bottom three and I echo what Randy said that sometimes America gets a little confused. Randy always says it's a singing competition, which it should be and if that were the case Elliot and Kat and even Paris wouldn't have to sweat it out every week. Instead, it's a popularity contest that's all about demographics. But, like Simon says, America is voting and look at how many semi-talented but pretty people we have as celebrities now.

And as far as I'm concerned Seacrest can go jump off the top of the Kodak Theater. Simon and the contestants make the show; Ryan's just there to read the teleprompter and be as vanilla as possible and he's making a very good living riding the show's coat tails. I'd actually lump him in Star Jones together on the same level of annoyance.

I'll take the funny looking cutie pie any day American Idol Predictions
Elliot is adorable...I don't see how people think Ace is cute, he looks greasy and shady to me.

I agree with it being a popularity contest....which is a load of crap. If it was based on singing, Elliott would not have been in the bottom three. Clearly he had the best performance of them all on Tuesday and yet he was Bottom 3. It makes me 100% sad....because I now understand that no matter how good Elliott's voice is, he can never win American Idol. He is just to cute, kind, and adorable.

It's NOT a singing contest -- it's a PERFORMING contest. Being a great pop star isn't about being the best singer, it's about being a charismatic performer. Does anyone think Steven Tyler or Mick Jagger are the best singers in the world? No, but they're magnetic performers and that's what AI is trying to find, people who draw in an audience by the way they put over a song.

Singing contest? Never has been, never will be. That's just part of the puzzle.

Ok, I think I officially think America's deaf.

Elliott did not not NOT deserve to be down there tonight!!!!! It looked they were doing a fine job of pimping him though, which is a good sign. Even though next week's theme is ideal for him, he still has the Ace risk, even though Ace blows. And the thing is, if Ace went this week, Bucky SO would have gone home next week, presenting no threat to Elliott, or even Paris and Katherine for that matter. Though Standards Week should legitimately knock Pickle on her ass (why the hell is she still here?!). Anyway, Ace still has the pretty boy threat, even though I would do things to Elliott that are illegal in most states. And AI loves a generic pretty boy, they're so much more marketable even though Elliott's voice (and looks) turns many into goo.

I hate AI. I hate being this emotionally invested. Evil! Can't wait for next week!

If you are an Elliott fan and want to see him go further, PLEASE throw him a vote or two next week. It only takes a minute! And in return we get more of that gorgeous voice. Lord, what's happened to me...

Great American Standards, and Rod Stewart's going to be the celebrity guest. He released something like 4 CDs devoted to this theme.

Ugh, I *really* can't stand Kellie Pickler, and the thought that she escaped the bottom 3 tonight (especially when Elliott was there instead) makes me SO mad. She's like a horrible combination of both Jessica AND Ashlee Simpson. Grrr.

But Elliot is not even that good a singer... I mean, he can sing, but he can't SING. I understand how people fall for his "Aw shucks" quality (Bucky had that too), and he is the best singer of the guys (although Chris and Taylor are the most interesting), but he's nothing to get excited about.

I agree. I don't know why we're harping on the guys when the awful Kellie Pickler is still going strong.

I don't really like Paris. Her voice is all over the place. She should have waited a few years.

He may not be *that* good, but he certainly performed better than Pickler last night... definitely not bottom 3 material.

Chris and Paris are still my favorites. American Idol Predictions

THANK GOD SUCKY IS GONE!

Now if only people would stop voting for Pickles. Ace will be gone soon though too. Then it will be down to actual talent when the two of them go.

It's very subjective. Elliott's voice is exciting to me. I haven't been this head over heels for an AI contestant ever, not even Bo. And I've loved Elliott since I heard him during Hollywood group sings, the good ole days when he was ready to bitchslap the twins. Even his weak performances are good and download-worthy for me. I also like Taylor and sometimes Chris and Katharine, but I've barely downloaded anyone else's songs this year. Elliott's voice surpasses typical R&B contestants. He's an old soul with a beautiful rasp that appears now and again on top of the smooth runs, and his range is like no other male this year. He can do contemporary, 50s, rock, jazz, r&b, all while staying true to himself (hello Chris)...the only performances I was disappointed with vocally are Heaven and If Tomorrow Never Comes.

I like Elliot because he's very competent, I agree, although as I've pointed out he doesn't excite me. I like Ace because I've seen him be good on the show and I don't know where it went. I guess I feel bad. Paris, like I've said, pitchy. I rather like Mr. Gray Hair, but he won't win. Chris is okay, but he's old hat by now. I consistently like Katherine. Hate the Pickler.

That's cool, I'm not asking people to get all squealy for him. I just want those who vote and like him to throw a few his way this week. Hell, I think even the higher-ups want him to stay around another couple weeks, because that was some hardcore pimping tonight.
I liked Ace when he sang Father Figure and thought he had potential. Unfortunately for me, that initial like faded pretty quickly. I thought he did well on country night though. I think Taylor is more of a threat than people realize...he's got one huge fanbase.

We are so on the same page. I am going to be voting like crazy next week for Elliott. I agree that Ace did a good job on Father Figure...I just have not liked a song he has done since. I'm not sure what happened to him. Where is it that you download Elliotts songs from?

to play the devil's advocate, isn't any contest where people vote on the winner essential a popularity contest? The reason they are the most popular is because the most people are voting for them.

that being said, I agree that Elliot probably shouldn't have been at in the bottom three, but at this point, you can't say America's deaf, because if he wasn't in the bottom three, who should be? (besides Pickler). At this point in the game, no one really deserves to be in the bottom three, but someone has to be. (but it should have been Kellie :))

I wasn't all that thrilled with Elliot's performance, he did a better job last night then he did on Tuesday though, I'll give him that. Maybe it's because "Somebody to Love" is one of my favorite songs and I expected more and he didn't deliver that. I'm so used to Queen's version that it's hard not to compare it to that.

That said if I had to pick the bottom 3 for last night it would've been Paris Ace and Bucky and Bucky going home, I was mostly right...

I have a soft spot for Ace, maybe it's the looks maybe it's the hypnotic eyes saying "vote for ace" I dunno, but I always end up placing a bunch of votes for him...maybe it's because his line is the easiest to get through to

The one that I want to win, however, is Chris. Chris is who "does it" for me. He gives a solid performance week after week and I enjoy rock and alt rock so that might be why I enjoy him. I thought his version of Innuendo was amazing, but I do agree that he might have been better off doing a song that people had heard of. Him singing something like Under Pressure would've been a chance to shine and prove to everyone he has what it takes. But he did not, but he still "rocked it out" and I enjoyed his performance. His line was impossible to get through to, I only got a handful of votes for him where I called for ace and voted for him like 30 times in a row.

I enjoy Elliot, I guess, he has a good voice, but he's very forgettable, if he hadn't sung my favorite Queen song then I probably wouldn't even remember what he sang like every other week. I sorta forget about him. He just doesn't have the stage presence to win. I think he should be in the top 4 at least, but in no way do I think he has what it takes to win the compitition.

Also for those that say it's a "singing contest" those that are the best singers don't necissarily sell albums. People have different tastes in music. I don't really listen to R&B so why would I vote for Paris or Mandisa or Elliot when I wouldn't listen to the music they put out if they win? That plays a big factor in voting. Would you buy their album or merch or concert tix? Just because they may have the best voice doesn't mean I'm gonna do that. Where as someone like Chris I would definatly do all of the above.

I voted for Kelly and Carrie and Bo and own their albums and if they ever came to my area I'd probably try to get tix. So that's what is the deciding factor for me and who I vote for.

I didn't expect Bucky to get very far, but he should have at LEAST outlasted Ace.

I've been consistantly voting for Chris, Katharine, and Elliot, and Tuesday, I voted for Elliott the most. Bah.

I think the singing contest stuff is how it was originally started and it's morphed into an entertainment contest. I honestly think Kelly Clarkson won the first American Idol because she had the best voice, but then it started becoming a demographic and charisma thing. In all reality, I'd have to say that the clear cut best singer in the competition only won that first year when the show hadn't became this phenomenon. Last year there were many who didn't think Carrie was the best singer. The year before that Fantasia definitely wasn't the best singer, but America voted Latoya off halfway through. The year before that the argument could be made that Clay was better than Reuben.

I just wish Fox would quit pumping certain people. Cut out all the little pre and post-song interviews, all the cute video packages, and don't give different lighting and backgrounds to the singers. If you really want to see who's got the "IT" factor, have them go out on an empty stage with no light shows and no background playing on the video screen and let's see who can put the audience in the palm of their hands with just their voice and their charisma.
