You people are heartless! Kellie is sweet and she has a very sad backstory. She's had a hard life. Granted, that in and of itself doesn't qualify her to be the next American Idol (maybe Queen for a Day) but c'mon.... give the poor girl a break.

I agree, CurtainUp2.
I'm probably one of the few Kellie fans on here. But she is not nearly as bad as some other people who have been on the show in the past. And the fact that she admitted she wasn't great shows that she is not totally self-absorbed and she's not one of those people who will disagree with Simon no matter what. Even if it is a complete act, she admits her mistakes. And that song is very hard to sing. Even if she annoys you, she's hardly as bad as some people say. She's having fun in this competition, let her be.
Since when is Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered difficult to sing? What's hard about it?

I don't know exactly since I've never tried, it just seems like a really hard song. I've heard quite a few people say that in the past 2 days. And for someone to have that many pitch problems, it can't be the easiest song in the world to sing.
That's exactly what Kellie wants. She wants America to vote for her based on her retarded comments and her sob story. This is not "American Pity Vote." I'm not denying that her life has been difficult so far. You know who elses life has been hard? Melissa McGhee's. Her parents have both been in and out of jail. Elliott Yamin lives with an insulin pump attached to him because of severe diabetes. Elliott is also deaf in one ear. The difference is that you didn't/don't see any of these other people pimping their troubles for votes.
And anyone who thinks that Kellie is a little innocent Southern girl has a surprise in store. Trying googling "Kellie Picker prom picture" and seeing what comes up.
Bravo! Well said!...and if the girl has pitch problems - what the hell is she doing trying to be a singer anyway??? Or is she trying to get help in that department? If she wants to be a better singer, why doesn't she study voice for a few years and then try again?
I totally agree about her pimping her poor past to get the simpathy vote. The heroes are the ones who don't talk about it, but try to rise above it (like Elliot).
Kick that blonde mess off, puhleeze.
It's not just Kellie that is pimping. It's the whole dang show. Ryan practically begs for sympathy from the audience for her.
She'd make a good Daisy Mae....if she could sing.
Honestly, I know little to nothing about the "backstories" of these people. All I want to know is whether or not they are good performers. Their bios should have NO influence whatsoever on this competition (although it obviously does).

Honestly, I don't like Kellie because of her backstory. I've forgotten all about it since they've said nothing about it for over a month. I like her because she knows what kind of music she's good at, and she has fun with it. And like I said, I don't think shes awful, I like her voice. I know I'm the minority here, but that's my opinion, I like her.
Kellie is da bomb. Everyone I know loves her. It's only here that people are being bitchy about her. I'm going to start voting for her multiple times and I sincerely hope she's the next American Idol. America deserves her!

I know Kellie won't win, but I enjoy watching her.
I think Katharine has a real chance, too. (Now that I said that, she probably won't win).

Kellie is a dolt. There, I said it.
Now on to classic love songs - that's a relatively broad category, isn't it? I'd imagine they have quite the selection to choose from. That said, there is likely to be enough material that they can each find something suitable (or somewhat suitable).
I'm curious if the category is narrowed down any further than "classic love songs?"
I think Elliott is well suited to ballads in general, so I expect we will enjoy at least his performance.

I was underwhelmed by Katharine's performance. Too breathy.

I liked it. Katharine's my favorite, so I'm biased, but I thought it was good.
For a Whitney song though, not bad.
