Ace is gone. Long overdue. That nasal whining has driven me up the wall for weeks.
Glad Ace is gone, but something is fishy about those other two being in the final three...
His hair looks even more ridiculous in montage than it usually does.
I hope Chris Daughtry's ego shrinks a little now. Based on his performance last night, he definitely belonged in the bottom three.
Paris in no way, shape or form did. She was the only one nearly as good as Katharine last night.
Weird show tonight...
I mean, I'm happy Ace is gone because we all know he wouldn't have won anyway so it didn't really matter WHEN he left...it was inevitable. Elliot will be going home next week unless someone like Taylor messes up BIG TIME. We'll see...it looks like it will be a great show.
PEOPLE, YOU HAVE TO VOTE! You can't assume that the people who get praised by the judges will be safe. Seriously, vote for who you want to vote for no matter what you think about them being safe that week or not. Vote!
"Elliot will be going home next week unless someone like Taylor messes up BIG TIME."
And exactly how did you arrive at that conclusion, WR? Elliot wasn't even in the bottom three this week.
Okay, maybe I'm alone in this, but I was pretty much COMPLETELY shocked by tonight's results. Well, not *completely*... Ace's leaving was inevitable, but for Paris AND Chris to be in the bottom 3--while Kellie stood by safely--was definitely a "wtf?" moment for me. I was actually expecting HER to be the one to leave tonight, considering her performance last night.
People have developed favorites at this point in the game - whether they mess up or not is in some respects besides the point. Pickler was ahead of the orchestra but she aside from that it was hardly the train wreck some people on here are making it out to be. Maybe if she had just stopped and stood there clueless in the middle of the song but...She has a big fan base that will keep her alive for a few more weeks at least. Ditto Taylor.
Ace is gone? About time.

You obviously over-estimate the taste and intelligence of the American public. I learned my lesson after the last presidential election.

The top 3 was even more of a WTF than the bottom 3...Chris and Paris didn't belong in the bottom 3 at all, and Kellie didn't belong in the top 3.
Obviously Kellie is this year's Anthony Federov/Scott Savol/John Stevens......

i missed idol..i am not surprised about ace..he is a little dull..adorable..but it was his time i guess. i think he should be Fiyero! hahaha....
at this point ANYONE will be shocking in the bottom three cause i think they are all good. i am hoping for chris or catherine as the last two. kelli keeps staying cause i think the public just LOVES her and she earned MY RESPECT last night because she KNEW she was BAD!! i HATE it when they are bad and they have NO CLUE! they are like "i was damn good" and we're like..NUH UH!
what happened on america's next top model? i missed that too!!
someone PM me and tell me!
Thank goodness Ace is gone--and if he ever joins the cast of Wicked, I quit life forever. (Speaking of Fiyero, Chris' outfit last night reminded me of Fiyero's costume...)
Am I the only one who hates Paris??
Right, I don't think Kellie is TERRIBLE. She's just not great. Like Carmen Rasmusen from a few seasons back, she reminds me of a girl singing in her high school talent show that everyone applaudes politely for but doesn't even end up winning.
The thing with American Idol though is that the audience skews younger and older, so a lot of "adults" don't like Chris' rocker sound and could be growing tired of it. Plus, like my grandmother says, Kellie and Katharine just seem like such nice girls and she wants them to win.
One of the most disgusting things about Pickler is that she constantly apologizes for herself - whenever Simon criticizes her, she immediately says "Ah'm Sorry!"...which is just so uncalled for. She was SO far ahead of the music last night - and if she was a decent singer at all, she'd have found a moment to stop and let it catch up to her. What a dolt.
Paris was pretty awesome, even if it was a song that was too mature for her.
Ace sings through his nose all the time - that nasal quality just makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up - I'm glad he's gone - now maybe he'll do the smart thing and stick to persuing a modeling career.
Chris redeemed himself in my eyes last night - up to that moment, I thought that all he could do was rock out on songs.
And as much as I love Katherine's singing - I wish she'd learn how to stop switching from head to chest all the time and try to make it a smoother transition.
And Elliot, who I really like, sort of lost me last night, because he chose to do such a flat rendition of that song - I agree with Simon, there was no personality in it at all.
All in all - it was an interesting evening.

I think the reason Chris was in the bottom three was because people assumed he was safe. They assumed others would vote for him and they themselves did not vote for him. It happened last year with Bo Bice. He probably won't be bottom three again after that. I really don't think it had anything to do with performance. I'm SO happy Elliott has one more week. I also agree that unless someone else majorly screws up, he is gone next week. That or perhaps America will realize that they need to stop voting for Kellie. We already had a blonde country singing American Idol...one that was talented and not dumb as a rock.
You people are heartless! Kellie is sweet and she has a very sad backstory. She's had a hard life. Granted, that in and of itself doesn't qualify her to be the next American Idol (maybe Queen for a Day) but c'mon.... give the poor girl a break.
