Oh Jrb, I don't want to start this again, but clearly the staff of Idol is basically letting Abdul carry on a painkiller addiction that is great for ratings. By ground rules, I think that she should get some kind of treatment before she can return, but hey, her crazy behavior is great for the show, so I doubt they'll try to help her. She is crying out for help, and people are just letting her go because they think that is what will help sell the show. If Paula gets rid of the crazy (ie, quits the pills), then what is she to Fox?
And why shouldn't I be? I've admitted why THIS particular issue bothers me--why I would be passionate about correcting negative comments on this topic. When I made slurs against people on anti-depressants a few months ago, I rightfully got my ass handed to me. It's easy to be flippant and catty about certain things, forgetting that certain people are trying to work against such comments, forgetting that some people get hurt by such comments.
Despite the popular belief on BWW that Jerby has no sense of humor, blah blah blah, I actually have a very wicked sense of humor. I love unPC humor. But, there's a time and a place for it. When and where it should be ok to make jokes about people's illnesses is not something I clearly know. But, when you speak in mixed company, be prepared for rebuttal. If you want to rail against that rebuttal as many of you have--fine. But this is not a private conversation--we are typing very much in public.
Sorry, I'm raining on the parade.
Well I agree with you on the producers vs responsibility of dealing with her.
And, I guess ultimately Paula has to be the one to take charge of addressing these matters. If they need to be addressed.
But let's get back to SUNSHINE, namely imagining Chris and Elliott singing a love duet. sigh.
For once I'm not worrying too much about Elliott. He may be in bottom three if something crazy happens...but he Will Not be going home. He's an AMAZING singer and as a diabetic myself, I love that he is representing us well. I just wish he would calm his nerves a little more when he performs. Other then that I'm loving him. Last night was easily his best performance.
I'm not sure who I think will leave, but I have a feeling Katharine will be in the bottom 3.

I definitely want Kellie to be the next to go....unfortunately that's not how I think it is going to play out.
Simon just apologized for his comments on Katharine's performance last night with some line about how the performances sound different when you watch them back on TV.

I dunno, I think it's going to be Paris. Even though I think she is one of the stronger singers, but she's at the bottom of pretty much every poll and she just doesn't seem to have the fan base or sympathy votes of some of the other contestants.
