I loved Paris and Chris. The competition is just pointless now.
Taylor looks like a dimwit and is only half talented, Katherine is a carbon copy of every other upper-middle class girl with a nice rack a decent pipes, and Elliot looks like a gargoyle with a sub-par voice.
I cannot believe Chris got kicked off. He was the best one.
Taylor has never been in the bottom two or three. And with web sites like votefortheworst.com encouraging people to vote for him, I believe he's going to be the next American Idol. Maybe they'll finally overhaul the voting process. But probably not. Well... one thing's for sure, it's definitely not about who's the most talented.
Wow.
Season 1: Kelly Clarkson
Season 2: Ruben Studdard
Season 3: Fantasia Barrino
Season 4: Carrie Underwood
Season 5: TAYLOR HICKS?
I'm a Taylor fan (as you can see) but I can't believe what happened tonight. Kat deserved to go way before Chris.
You know what they say about opinions.
For the record, Carrie is actually doing very well for herself on country radio.

Hmmmm - last time I checked, this was a SINGING competition. Chris SCREAMED. He had ONE STYLE of "singing." So he was bald and a hottie - is that why people really voted for him? 'Cause he was cute? I hate to say it, but if/when Elliott goes all the way, I will have no problem saying "I told ya so's" to a lot of people, because vocally, he IS the strongest voice left in the competition.
And again - this is MY opinion - you're entitled to yours.
But mine is right *wink*
I honestly cannot stand Taylor!!!!!!! Everyone thinks he's so great, but I don't see it at all. I was rooting for Chris from the very begining and I am now boycotting the show!!!!! I think it's absolutly ridiculious that Chris was voted off. Go Elliott!
Does Taylor have mental problems? I don't mean that to be mean, It's a serious question.
I'm not going to watch any more either - no interest.
The Idol winners turned into a joke when Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard were the two finalists.
I don't understand why everyone is so upset about Chris leaving and threatening to boycott the show and everything. This is just a game show in all reality. It's like a big version of Survivor where America gets to vote and you never know where their loyalties will lie from week to week.
Chris set himself up for not making it through by his average performances last night while Taylor at least entertained the crowd and Elliot sang well. Chris and Kat both set themselves up to take a fall because, as Randy says, "they didn't bring it" last night. Obviously America had its reasons for not voting for him and I don't think the numbers are rigged because check out dialidol.com and their numbers are usually pretty accurate.
It's a show folks. It's a big soap opera with singing!!!
I'm not too big of an idol fan but seriously why is Taylor still in there!?! so stuck up and cocky and annoying...when they split the groups in two he knew his was the top two and there have been other times when he has been safe and he'll just go over to the other side of the stage and mug for the camera...I can't stand him and honestly he has a pretty good voice but he never really shows it off and just relies on his stage presence.
The only possible changes to the voting process that I can think of are:
- Limit the number of votes allowed per phone, which will never happen because then they won't be able to brag about getting 40 million votes last night
- Charge a small fee per vote, which would probably not go over well with the public (although some other countries do it for their Idol shows)
- Switch from voting for the contestants you want to stay to voting against the ones you want to leave, which would probably result in the more interesting/controversial contestants going home early and the more bland inoffensive ones staying until the end
