This week

I agree blueroses. I think when Kathryn saw Kellie getting a lot of attention on her funny, bubbly personality so she began to act the same kind of way. And it comes off very put upon to me. I do think she has a good voice, but I don't like her fakeness.
I thought it was going to be Chris and Taylor in the top 2. I’m so down right now about this. I didn’t get to see the show on Tuesday so I can really say how everyone did but I heard Kathryn did pretty awful. Well now that Chris is gone I guess my dream has a better chance of coming true. And that’s Taylor winning American Idol.

You won't truly be you until you can say; I... am ....... a Catholic.

One of the websites has a continous loop of Chris' face when Ryan said he was going home. It looks like a kid being told Santa Claus isn't real.

Never underestimate the lack of taste of the American public.

EW.com has an interview with Chris Daughtry up. Getting the boot doesn’t seem to have hurt his confidence any (apparently it had nothing to do with his bland performance on Tuesday; it’s all about the fans not voting and God’s “bigger plan”).

You know, if he had just lightened up a little, he probably would have made it to the final two (“A Little Less Conversation” is a fun, goofy little song...would it have killed him to crack a smile during his performance?).

According to Seacrest there is going to be some kind of announcement tonight (on Extra, I think) that Fuel or some other band looking for a new lead singer wants Chris for the gig. If so, this was planned all along.

I still think Chris is great. I'll stand by that. I'm going to miss him on the show.
i'm a tough act to follow because when i'm done i take the microphone with me.

I still love Chris, too. He's allowed to be disappointed and shocked by the elimination.

I actually totally agree that past contestants have gotten a bit more sympathy from Seacrest. The way he announced it was MEANT to play up the shock value, and its not Chris' fault he was thrown for a loop.

No need to be nasty about it, folks...

In honor of last night's shocker, I present a line from Jerby: Fully Loaded:

"I'm tired of not being able to trust elections--whether they be American Presidential or American Idol."

I loved Chris (though Taylor is my fave). Hot boy. Awesome rock voice (though sometimes the goat-vibe irked) Seacrest was a complete and utter d-ckwad (re: his delivery). That botoxed, orange moron!
