No, Carly is going to sing "As If We Never Said Goodbye"...right before they kick her ass off the show.

re: American Idol this Week

I read that Michael Johns had planned to perform "Music of the Night" and Kristy "Don't Cry for me Argentina" . If this is true, I would assume, no-one will be singing these, unless they are incorporated into an ALW group medley.

re: American Idol this Week

I doubt Michael would've been able to reach that high note.

I am going to miss Ramiele this week, I think she would have done well. If she was still in the competation, I wonder what she would have sang. With more training and experience I could see Ramiele being a good musical theater actress.

re: American Idol this Week

Ramiele had no stage presence. She could improve her vocal technique with more training and experience, but she would need massive help to learn how to act and "feel" a song. I honestly can't picture her in a musical, at least not a good one.

Ramiele, actress - laughable.

re: American Idol this Week

I was just thinking,

I would love to hear David Cook sing "Memory".

I could hear it as a haunting rock ballad, and it would be great if performed in a different way from the standard, I'm-a-girl-singing-this-song-like-every-other-girl-who-has-sung-it-before.

Maybe that's just me. I think it would be good.

Either way it should be an interesting evening.

Who's going to sing the title song from JCS?

It's another chance for a Jesus mention, yo.

re: American Idol this Week

^ lol.

If David does not sing "Memory", I hope he does sing "Superstar".

We will know by this afternoon ala TMZ.

re: American Idol this Week

You know they're going to sing only the stuff you'd find on one of those Best of Andrew Lloyd Weber as performed by the Toronto Philharmonic albums or such.

Although I'm still hoping for "Let's Have Lunch" or "Notes" to be the group number.

re: American Idol this Week

does anyone know what songs they are singing yet? I just read an article that said Carly wanted to sing "All I ask of you" and ALW told her he didn't think it was a good choice for her that she should sing Superstar. I guess the choice was up to her and it didn't say which one she selected. If she is singing Superstar, then David Cook won't.

Mateo, David Cook could pull off an interesting version of Memory, but I bet Syesha chose that one. I wonder if ALW let them create their own arrangements?

Something tells me he didn't. Then it wouldn't be "Andrew Lloyd Webber's"...

re: American Idol this Week

It would definitely be interesting to see David Cook do Memory...but I think he will choose Superstar.

re: American Idol this Week

I hope David Cook does not do Memory. I shudder to think of that voice trying to belt out those notes. Please, please do not ruin that song!

re: American Idol this Week

Nitsua,my guess was he didn't allow them to have any liberties with his songs; which means they will all have a harder time this week. Song selection will be even more important this week.

Syesha Mercado -- "One Rock & Roll Too Many" from Starlight Express

David Cook -- "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera

Carly Smithson -- "Jesus Christ Superstar"

Brooke White -- "You Must Love Me" from the film adaptation of "Evita"

Jason Castro -- "Memory" from Cats.

David Archuleta -- "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera.

Castro got it. Apparently 3 contestants really wanted it, and Castro's name was pulled from that hat.

This will be a good AI night. Either way.

re: American Idol this Week

Well, I guess someone whispering Memory might be better than what David C. would have done.

SOO glad Cook didnt go with Superstar. That would have been a FAR too obvious choice. I'm a little nervous about him doing "Music of the Night"

Good lord, what is this? Did they not learn when the Grease contestants had to see ALW's songs?

re: American Idol this Week

I'm on a bit of a delay with the DVR. So far, bleah.

I guess Syesha was good for Syesha, but I can't warm to her and have never--not once--been blown away.

Jason was really off. Brooke? Horrendous!
