re: American Idol this Week

Her exit made a sad week just a little bit better.

re: American Idol this Week

I would love to hear Carly sing "Take That Look Off Your Face". I think she could do that one justice.
I have RSD...but it doesn't have me!!!!

re: American Idol this Week

I've decided I must have David Cook.

re: American Idol this Week

Mariah was defintely lipsynching. I don't even think what she does anymore qualifies as singing. And as others have said, she always looks cheap.

re: American Idol this Week

What is that stupid thing she does with her fingers that looks like she's conducting a mini orchestra? lame.

re: American Idol this Week

I don't like that either. It's like she has to visualize the octaves in her head.

re: American Idol this Week

I don't think she was lipsynching, but I do think there was a faint backing track playing under her.

Did anyone hear her backup singer?? He/she went crazy toward the end with high pitched shrieks.

I see Jason Castro singing "Those Caanan Days" with a bad French accent.

re: American Idol this Week

According to ew.com the Mariah perf. was pre-taped, but apparently she sang live...details below.

"Please, no judging," Mariah smiled, as she began warbling some notes into her bedazzled mic. "I don't even know if they can hear in the audience," she continued, then turned to us and explained. "They make us wear these headphone things, and it's so bleak! Just FYI. Sorry to, like, have a sound check. I'm always late." My goodness, Mariah, don't apologize! We are happy to sit here and listen to you sing the same song four or five times.

We pre-tape Mariah, whose segment will air after the Q&A segment we'll pre-tape right after we pre-tape Mariah. Mariah finishes the song, does her little confab with Ryan, and once the cameras are off, Ryan asks, "Randy, how did it sound?" "Great!" replies Randy. "The ending was a little rancid," Mariah says casually. "NO!" screams the audience. I write +10 for use of "rancid" in my notebook.

I wanted to shoot Mariah's backup singer. That was nasty!

Finally, Kristy Lee Tall is gone! So happy Carly is safe. I love her. :^) Not so much David Arkaletteiy or whatever it is...

I think that Jason will sing something with smoldering eyes. Also, who's goona perform Wednesday? Betty Buckley? Michael Crawford? TIM RICE?????

re: American Idol this Week

I finally caught up last night.

Why don't the judges ever say something about Pork Chop's horrid phrasing? I know he had some sort of problem in the past, but he needs to stop doing huge gasps in the middle of phrases. It's quite off-putting.

re: American Idol this Week

Any ideas what songs will be done this week?

My guesses...
Syesha's going with Memory
Brooke should do Tell Me on a Sunday or Whistle Down the Wind
David C -- Heaven on their Mind or Oh What a Circus
David A -- Close Every Door or (heaven help us) Music of the Night
Jason -- High Flying Adored or an acoustic version of All I Ask of You
Carly -- As If We Never Said Goodbye
Hi, Shirley Temple Pudding.
