I loved the joy on his face when he heard he was going home. He also was really happy while singing his last song.

Good for him! He'll be fine.

Singing his last song? Janie, he sang about one line, and forgot the words!

His hair drove me crazy.

I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

Did he forget the words? I walked out of the room. HAHA!

That one dreadlock that was careening away from his head? Yeah, I saw that!

I loved him on the show! Too bad it's all over.

Not just tonight with the hair. Since Idol started. I kept waiting for some living creature to come popping out in the middle of one of his performances.

While the three best singers remain, Jason Castro was the only one of the 12 with a personality. I'd still rather watch him perform than any other contestant this year.

JASON... PERSONALITY???

Are you serious?

Yes, I'm serious. What, you think David A has one?! Jason may have a stoner's personality, but at least he has one. He was the only defined performer. Everyone else is like everybody else who's ever been on the show.

Unless Ivan and I both dazed off at just the right time, we didn't see Jason messed up. I know when Jason said he messed up we both looked at each other.

Would they edit the performance for the West Coast? I tried to watch it again, but tivo deleted the recording.

Anyway, we're glad Jason went home. He obviously didn't want to be in the competition.

I have no idea what kind of artist Jason is, and I don't think he has a particularly compelling personality. I don't think he can sing, and I don't find him interesting at all. I'm not sure exactly what made him a "defining" performer. He just kind of strummed his guitar and smiled congenially while singing songs he did not understand nor connected to. After awhile, that got old, particularly since he seemed to show no desire to actually do research and learn songs that would be good for his limited abilities.

That's the thing, Liverpool. We watched it and we're both positive that he didn't mess up.

Maybe we were distracted by Shia and didn't see it. I dunno.

Jason completely messed up Mr. Tambourine Man - he dropped an entire line of the song.

And didn't he sound like every stereotypical stoner you've ever seen when he was talking about sleeping in the sky? It was almost too perfect.

I keep trying to get David A - I've just got to accept that he will win and I will NEVER understand his appeal at all. He changes/botches lyrics and gets no criticism for it. He is completely incapable of articulate speech when Ryan asks him a question. He looks like a scared kid every time he sings. I just don't get it.

FINALLY the stoned dread-head is gone *smirks*

David Cook is still my fave re: American Idol this Week

I am however thrilled to see Syesha doing well.

And GOD do I love Maroon 5. Last night only made me love them more re: American Idol this Week

"particularly since he seemed to show no desire to actually do research"

Spoken like a true actress!! And you KNOW I mean that with love!

I come not to bury Castro, but to praise him. For all that was lightweight about him as a performer and for all the Mowie Wowie (what up, Viloet Newstead!) he seems to have ingested, he seems to have a very clear sense of himself and his abilities. And, frankly, I appreciate that quite a bit. Particularly in comparison to the Christina Crawford terror that shows up in the Porkchop's eyes.

So, on the scary, controlling parent scale of Blanche Devereaux to Josef Fritzl, where does Daddy A fit? I'm thinking somewhere between stage Rose and real Rose, as he hasn't actually killed anyone yet (so far as we know).

I think he's sitting on his whip in the audience.

Poor David. His pain is all over his face.

Who supplied him, I wonder? Did someone send him daily brownies?

Anyway, he stunk, and I never saw anything behind the mildly pleasant voice and "stoner" personality.

He clearly was thrilled to be leaving, so why did he audition in the first place, I wonder?

Syesha is a decent performer (no Latoya London or Kelly Clarkson) and has a pretty good voice...she is not likeable, however. Every time she is interviewed, an arrogance comes through that is so unappealing...she's out next week.

Archuletta has a lovely voice, and a decent amount of musicality, but he is a dreadful performer...he has a great chance of winning.

Cook is a good musician and knows music. His voice is pretty good and he is an okay performer. He has the best package (no pun intended) but he reads old and will probably not win. The best thing he has going for him is the perception that the judges are pushing for an Archuletta win...and a backlash from that will benefit Cook. Archuletta did do the best job this week, but he didnt blow anything out of the water. Comments like that will help Cook.

hehe, he DEFINITELY seemed happy to be going home, but I kind of felt terrible for him having to sing that song again! :P It seemed like he was thinking he was going to do Mr. Tambourine Man (cause he had his guitar and everything), and then when the music for I Shot The Sheriff came on he got this look like "ooohhh GOD, I have to sing THAT song again!! I CAN'T!!" and then just cracked up hehe re: American Idol this Week

He really was adorable. I don't care what anyone says. I enjoyed him. I wasn't sad for him to go because it was definitely time and plus he wanted to go, but it's still going to be a bit more of a boring show without his silly stoner-seeming antics! hehe

(oh, about that:
Carly swore in a radio interview that she did that he told him he's never smoked at all in his life. Granted I'm sure she would say that anyway because she wouldn't rat him out and be all 'haha yeah, he smokes all the time', but.. she seemed pretty hardcore about it! Like she defended him a lot. And, you know, I think I believe her because... I think I'm a lot like Jason in a lot of ways hahaha. Seriously, my first reaction to EVERYTHING is to smile- even when I'm unhappy- and when I get embarrased I think sometimes I can come off as just not caring about it. I'm socially akward, that's all. And I have a feeling he just is too. So I can totally believe that non of his behavior actually came from smoking :P)

See.. I feel like Paula and Simon have both kind of been equally praising of BOTH Davids. Randy is definitely pulling for David A to win (I swear Daddy Archuleta is paying him or something!), but Paula and Simon are both VERY big Cook fans :) In fact, Simon has said in interviews as of late that he would like David C to win. WILL he? He's not sure. But he'd LIKE him to (I think he's trying to keep those kinds of comments fairly on the DL though, so as not to have them become the kiss of death haha). And Paula has basically said the same thing

Really? You think he reads old? I don't at all, actually, but that's just me :) I remember that was my big problem with Melinda last year- she was terrific, but her whole persona was WAY too old and mature for Idol. She was like a Gladis Knight singer, and it just did NOT fit into the context of the competion. She just felt too old fashioned, as great as she was. David C, though, I don't feel is that way at all. Sure, in comparison to David A he looks quite a bit older, but that's because David A is only 17 and David C is 25! It IS a big difference! haha. But 25 is still totally young, and his style is actually a lot MORE modern than both David A's and Syesha's I think. He's the only one who really focuses on making the arrangments of the songs he does relevant for today.

I was not posting about his music being old, I wrote that he "read" old...I dont know if he is balding, but his hair-do makes him look like he is.
