It's great watching Buffy while packing.
In the past couple of days, I've had to start with tape 2 but watched I Robot, You Jane, Angel (my fav ep from that season--shock), Puppet Show, and Nightmares.
It's always so weird starting over in the first season with willow all nerdy and having a huge crush on Xander, Xander having a huge crush on Buffy, etc.
Loove Ms. Calendar too, and felt the same way about her death.
Again just...especially in the first season, all of those "nonarchal" episodes that featured villians of the week had some aspect of importance to the series and continuity and stuff.
Take I Robot You Jane. Aside from introducing Jenny, it was the first time in the show Buffy and Willow fought, the first, unfortunately misguided, time Willow stood up to Buffy and got some strength/force, there was a hint of Xander jealousy, the first time that some people participating in the evilness were non-demon, nonpossessed, non-magical students. And it's the first hint of someone noticing how often the 3 of them are in the library.
The Puppet Show of course introduces Snider perfectly. The first time we see Giles have to interact with any students but the Scoobies...
I could give more but I'm getting tired.

Girly, you don't have to hit him. He's just trying to "rub it in" (take that, Zoneace) and it's not really working.

"take that, Zoneace"
I don't have to be told to take it.

Dang. I'll have to find another reason.
It kills me that he's off, the weather is gorgeous, and he's sitting inside!!
O.K. End threadjack. Back to your regularly scheduled Buffy musings.

Well, don't let it kill you, it just means he's stupid.
I would kill to be outside right now, personally. And here I sit. And my boss just royally screwed up and none of us are getting our overtime pay this week.
Thank god for having made friends because now I've learned how to enter my time myself.
No more of that crap to deal with!

No, but I do wish I had slayer powers right about now. And that does.

I hope that wasn't directed at me.

Exactly.
And by Mr. Pointy, he means the long, sharp stake Buffy got from Kendra and which she uses to slay vampires.
And bosses who forget to enter overtime.

I appreciate singer's efforts to keep the thread on-topic and on the front page. We love Mr. Pointy.
I was all excited when there were a bunch of new posts. Less excited, of course, when I realized how many of them included the me-bashing...
For your information, I spent plenty of time outside yesterday. There was a cute T-shirt and sunglasses and everything. Out shopping and for lunch and later sitting outdoors at a barbeque. I may have even tanned a little. Buffy takes place in southern California after all. Must keep perspective.
Such a nice breeze out...maybe I'll take the portable DVD player outside and watch some Buffy on a blanket in the grass.
Take that.

Seriously. I'm leaving work, getting on that dreaded PATH train, tracking you down and kicking your presumably-untanned butt.
I'm bringing Mr. Pointy.

Posted: 8/23/06 at 11:47amI had a really scary Buffy dream once. Actually, it was an integration. I was Buffy but living in my own house with my own family. And there was this demon that was able to turn himself into you/become you and then somehow replace you after he killed you. But like he had to be able to replace you before...so I was in my house with my family and Angel, and I got a call and there was no answer until someone was saying what I was saying in my voice and I realized it was the demon getting my voice down, and it was really scary.

I have a Serial Buffy dream.
In this recurring dream, I am myself in the Buffyverse. It's around season 5ish as Glory has appeared in the dreams and Dawn and Anya are in, not Cordelia.
In said dream, I also have access to quite powerful magic, at least as strong as Willow when she was heading down the dark side.
It's so much fun. I usually wake from those dreams VERY excited and with vivid recollection of what went on.
YEs, I am a geek. I left out an intentional detail because it would peg me even more.

Honey, two little comments is not bashing by any means. At least, not BWW standards.
wrq's dream is one of the reasons I shy away from watching this show.

That's silly bdwaygirl. I've had some very very pleasant Buffy & Angel dreams to make up for it.
But seriously, it really isn't that scary. That's not a reason to not watch. My mom is like...she'll never watch a horror movie and anything that may be at all scary/gross even. And I finally made her watch Buffy and she looved it. There was an episode here and there that wasn't so important that I might have skipped, featuring really gross demons or students ripping their skin off that I knew she would have hated.
But
