I'm very excited for Moffat's takeover even though I've not seen much of his other work. I missed most of Jekyll and haven't yet got around to watching it (though they did use a hotel my ex and I had stayed in about a week previously!).
I've been hearing wedding rumours for SJA too, some shops are being closed for filming on Sunday-if I find anything out/see anything I'll post!
Good news for American fans who have BBCAmerica: That network will be airing the five specials, not Sy-Fy. THE NEXT DOCTOR airs on June 27, PLANET OF THE DEAD will be coming in July (no date set as yet) and the rest will follow -- hopefully not long after they air in the UK.

AWESOME! Thanks for that info, I'll be sure to tune in, even though I've already seen them. Maybe if they get enough viewers they will be quicker to air the final ones.
Here's more good news: David Tennant will reprise Hamlet for the BBC per the article below. It will be the full original cast of the recent RSC production, including Patrick Stewart.

Bless everything good and holy! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Prayers do get answered. Although I may have to BEG and whore myself out to get someone to tape it for me and send it to me. I'll pay *bats eyelashes*
I'm sure it will be made available on DVD after it airs on BBC2. AND, I have no doubt it will end up on PBS at some point, like McKellen's KING LEAR.
New companion!!

She's young and pretty so that's a hit with some already! Sure she'll be great.
Spider, you won't need to whore yourself . Check out the link below for a press statement from the Royal Shakespeare Company, in particular these important bits of info:
"Filming begins in June for broadcast later this year on BBC Two. Broadcasts in the US and Japan will follow in 2010. "
"A DVD of the film is planned and will be on sale after the broadcast date ? further details to follow."
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooner or later -- great news. She's beautiful. Interesting that she was one of the seers in Fires of Pompeii.

Aww, she's cute. She wasn't the daughter of the family Donna saved, was she?
Awwww, she is cute. And yes, she was the daughter of the family that Donna saved. I don't think it is going to be the same character though. It was like how the actress that played Martha was in the finale of the second season but came back in the third as a whole new character.
"And yes, she was the daughter of the family that Donna saved. "
Actually, she wasn't. Evelina was played by another actress. This actress was one of the soothsayers in that little cult that almost killed Donna.
Ah! Well, all of those white girls looked alike. hahahaha

Haha! Wasn't that the point?
So I started watching Jekyll. I am in LOVE with this. I've never seen James Nesbitt in anything, but I'm already smitten.
Recognize the lady who plays the doctor he hired? (You might not if you haven't seen Planet of the Dead yet).

THAT'S what I know her from! I've been trying to place her all this time.
And my GOD! Mrs. Jackman beats the hell out of Hyde for sleeping around. LOVE it! I was howling with laughter, cause I thought she was a goner and then she turned around and beat the crap out of him.
So, have you finished JEKYLL yet?
FYI, for those intersted in all behind the scenes stuff, the people filming the RSC production of HAMLET have a blog running on the goings on. Rather interesting.

The really good BBC news is that they might reach a deal with Google to let their shows be distributed worldwide via YouTube. The era of horribly mutilated Skiffy and BBCA Doctor Who may be over in the States.
Exciting news for Dr Who fans going to Comic Con in San Diego this year... David Tennant and Russel T. Davies will be making an appearance at the Comic Con on Sunday, July 26, promoting the remaining specials that will be airing on BBCA this year (Planet of the Dead will be on that evening). John Barrowman will also be there for discussions on Children of Earth which will have aired the previous week.

It feels like it's been ages since I watched an episode of Doctor Who. I can't wait for new episodes to start airing on Sy Fy (yeah, new Sci Fi channel name.)
But for now I just have Torchwood episodes to hold me over.
The specials will be airing on BBC America, not Sy Fy. The first special, THE NEXT DOCTOR, will be on BBCA June 27.
But I don't have BBC America. =(
I'll just have to wait it out.

Some major spoilers abound in this article about the 10th Doctor's final episodes. I couldn't stop myself from reading them!

Martha was supposed to be the cousin of the character she played in the previous series.
It would be cool if the new companion was the original character that the Doctor dropped in on, but as the whole point of the companion is to provide someone who can see things the way we see them, it wouldn't work so well, and it might get a bit tedious that she's constantly surprised by electricity and mobile phones and computers etc.
Does anyone know when the next one off special is due to air in the UK?
Chrys, I don't know how accurate those spoilers are; mainly, Martha Jones is -- as of the 4th series -- engaged to Tom Milligan (the doctor she met in Last of the Time Lords). It has been announced he will be in the SJA, but I think the wedding is still a rumor.
Paterson, Waters of Mars has no set air date; Davies has only said "Novemberish."
