"Senate Republicans are planning to call for a congressional commission to investigate the conclusions of the new National Intelligence Estimate on Iran as well as the specific intelligence that went into it, according to congressional sources.

"The move is the first official challenge, but it comes amid growing backlash from conservatives and neoconservatives unhappy about the assessment that Iran halted a clandestine nuclear weapons program four years ago."

Conservatives, unlike liberals, don't take Iran at their word. They understand it's not a Kum-bah-yah world and you can't deal with crazy dictators by holding focus groups. The Senate Republicans feel that the intelligence is not correct and want more information.

this conservative is quite happy because as i said before this is the first sign of a deal between us and iran many years in the making.

Itr was due to the patriotic undercover work of Valerie Plame and her colleagues, all of whose work Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby and YOU undercut and all of whose lives Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby and YOU put in jeopardy.

Iran may or may not have nukes. That is not THE story.

THE story is the liberals believing that Iran doesn't and trying to blame Bush for it. His policy would be responsible for them NOT having nukes.

Bush absolutely positively knew of the NIE before last week. He LIED to the American public about it.

If he somehow DIDN't know, he should not be impeached, he should be imprisoned. I suggest Guantamo.

If Iran doesn't have Weapons of Mass Destruction, I'm really glad. I'm not going to take them at thier word, however.

Uh...It's not exactly Iran's word that we're discussing here. You might want to do a little research and find out what the NIE is.

Iran suspended their nuclear program.

We invaded Iraq and destroyed them. Who gets the credit for Iran stopping all their weapons?

Izzy Bush stipulated that Iran was one of the greatest threats to peace in the world; he called them "evil." He said that he thought they would be the cause of WWIII. His National Security advisor indicated that she thought they would supply their nuclear weapons to terrorists.

If I were president of the united stated I would be monitoring their actions to the minute. I would demand the most accurate intelligence on their actions and be briefed daily. Bush was so incurious, so uniterested in what was really going on, that he was told there were "Major developments in Iran" but didn't care to be told what they were for MONTHS. MONTHS. Doesn't that make you outraged? Have we ever had a president who cared less about our safety and security?
