Sorry, went away to eat some Chinese food. From Mom. re: Best Midtown Restaurant on a budget

Thanks everyone! After a dreadful day, it's heartwarming to see so many people answering my call for restaurant recommendations! I can always depend on BWW to cheer me up.

Extra props to Tiff for her intimate knowledge of midtown restaurants, even though she's in Vancouver. re: Best Midtown Restaurant on a budget

I work at both Pietrasanta (Phantom2's suggestion) and Rachel's.
9th Avenue for both, Pietrasanta is on 47th and Rachel's is on 44th.
Both have great food (although I'm impartial I suppose) and it's very reasonably priced. Also, both have a "pre-theatre brunch" on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturdays. $9.95, includes drink (cocktail, soda, whatever). Pietrasanta is Italian, Rachel's is American.
Check it out!

I would recommend "Simply Pasta" on 41st (by 6th). Great food, and the entrees are around the $10 (or less). We go there for lunch a lot.

Another vote for Virgil's. Also Manhattan Chili Company.

If you don't mind a divey kind of atmosphere, the best place for food in the area is McHale's, on 46th and 8th. HUGE burgers and appetizers, decent (and not expensive) steaks, outrageous fries...

JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

if no one's already mentioned it (I'm too lazy to read the whole thread!)...hit the Renaissance Diner on 9th avenue at 52nd street - great, very well-rounded menu and great prices - and if you're equity - show them your card and get 10% off your bill.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Sardi's has the best cannelloni in the area. But it is expensive. 5 APPLES
John's Pizza is inexpensive for carb lovers. 4 APPLES
Film Center cafe has a very very cheap unlimited champagne 3 APPLES brunch for 10.00. The food is very good for the price.
Great salads and burgers. They are also nice.

Mimosa's or Champagne. It is probably the cheapest champagne on the planet. But it is good. I took my brother and he loved it and he does not drink.
9th Avenue. Enjoy.
