Oh and by the way.. when we watched the inauguration all the queens in my living room felt the pulling of the ear peice was very dramatic. Maybe we just perceive things differently. But let me bow out. God forbid I see something different than Lupone or Namo.

I kind of like that her political views were different and that she "saw the light".
But she said she voted for Obama in 2008. I guess she was briefly enthralled by the wonder that is Ron Paul that she her light was obstructed, maybe? I totally believe you that she was supporting Obama in her concerts. That's why the who Ron Paul thing makes her seem like an uniformed imbecile.
And how in the hell was I attacking you? All my comments were in response to Dame, except to ask you if you thought that Yo-Yo Ma and Perlman should also be humiliated. Why don't you think so? They don't have self-respect and dignity?

Sorry. I take my Kelly bashing very seriously.
So you think she is a imbecile just because she had a different thought than you?

No, I think she's an imbecile because she knew nothing about Ron Paul (or at least subsequently claimed she knew nothing about Ron Paul when she caught heat) but tweeted "I liked him a lot during the last Republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't." Cause you know, if you can't vote Ron Paul, Obama is your next logical choice.

Since you've absolved Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman it seems the most logical thing to do. Kind of like voting for Obama because Ron Paul isn't in the running.

Posted: 1/24/13 at 5:23pmThere was no international ridicule when Yo-Yo Ma played to a track. He acknowledged it and explained it almost immediately. Beyonce has been made a fool all over the world. It is just a fact. You may not like it. But this is what has happened.

Will Beyonce sing the anthem at the SuperBowl next month?
Edit- never mind, it's Alicia Keys. Note to self - google is your friend.

Y'know, it really isn't a fact, and it's a sad state of affairs that it's being discussed to this degree at all. Who the hell cares? Most of the rest of the world is thinking about war, world hunger and gun control.
I couldn't pull Clarkson or Beyonce out of a line-up if my life depended on it. The discussion is an absurd one. One performer made a choice and another made a different one. Quite frankly, given the circumstances, I think Beyonce made the wiser decision. You've got a bee in your bonnet about Beyonce, that's clear. I don't believe it would have made a bit of difference to you if Beyonce had copped to lip-syncing right at the end of her performance. You just don't like her.
We got that, ok?

I think ghostlight was responding to the notion that the whole world is talking about what a fool Beyonce made of herself; not censoring this board.
My final thought is that whoever the singer is, I'd give anybody a pass for lip synching our national anthem. It's a f*cker.

The whole world is not talking about it. Who said that? Is it a international ( minor ) incident? YES. It was on CNN international. It is being covered in print and all other media all over the world. IT IS. Just a fact. And I enjoy all kinds of threads and discussions on tons of different stuff. And whoever does not like it.. that is tough ****.

Thanks for the clarification, Reg. That was indeed exactly what I meant. The whole world is not much concerned with the fact that some singer lip-synced, even if it was at the inauguration. It just isn't that important.
By all means, talk about whatever you like - I just don't see the point of repeating the same point over and over again.

I agree the media circus is nuts. But it's gone nuts over lip syncing in the past. The media is always nuts and Beyonce will sell.
Our national anthem is a f*cker. A f*cker that's been successfully sung live millions of times over hundreds of years. If you can't sing it live don't do it.

I'd be awfully surprised if it hasn't been lip synched a bunch of times too.
I was reading about the Yo Yo Ma thing, and apparently all the event's performers laid down insurance tracks and then decided just before appearing whether to perform live or not. I'm guessing a similar thing happened this year.
All of which is to say it seems the event's organizers weren't of the mind that if you can't do it live, don't bother.
But again, everyone gets to decide if it bothers them or not.

Posted: 1/24/13 at 7:12pmI've read they always lay down tracks in case some sort of emergency but this is the first time it was lip synced. And who knows, maybe Beyonce had one.
