Tutts... you must be losing your hearing. I said... YOU MUST BE LOSING YOUR HEARING! Katherine McPheeble sang every song flat or off-key. And her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, with that scary "Stepford" smile on her face, was appalling. She's a gigantic bore! I said... A GIGANTIC BORE!!!

Luscious- Mcphee scares me. She's so robotic on stage. I cant imagen her live (I'll find out in July when I see the Idols live in Philadelphia)

Dear Lucious..

I am very glad that you are not involved in any facet of music or performing arts. Any child in Kindermusik could tell you that Mr Hicks scooped more than Baskin Robbins.

Katherine's performances were real, live and correct. She at least infused her performances with something more than "run to left stage..run to right stage...wave hands". Or maybe in your limited knowledge that is performing. I know it is hard to understand that concept coming from your intense training at summer camp. But there is more to performing than attempting to sing while having a sizeure.

Katherine is, without a doubt, the class act of AI. This Billboard review says it all perfectly. Hicks horrid voice and flat vocal presentation will endear him to all his fans at your local county fair.

"Dear Luscious... I am very glad that you are not involved in any facet of music or performing arts."

Kind of presumptuous of you, Tutts. I'll take it from where it comes. And now it's time for you to return to Jurassic Park.

I SAID... IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO RETURN TO JURASSIC PARK!

Ok..so we know the wrong person won American Idol

Well, maybe to you.

Katherine's performances were real, live and correct.

I would hope that they were real and live. Correct? Technically, yes. But, I thought she was cold, flat, and unconnected for most of the time. And, this is coming from a performer.

I don't really think there's any point in arguing about this. Taylor ran around the stage and "connected" with the fans. Katharine McPhee, was a FAR better singer than Taylor. But, AI has NEVER been based on musical talent. If we're being honest pop music has NEVER been fully based on musical talent. Thats sad, but it's fact. Any "great" performer w/ good composers and a voice decent enough to be digitized into something bareable can have a decent music carrer. (Ciara, Pussycat Dolls, Madonna,)

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

"Katharine McPhee is an L.A. rich kid snot."

Oh Dear God, are you a judgemental idiot, or are you trying to be funny? The woman is an absolute class act, and has shown herself to be nothing BUT one. If you are deranged, judgemental, or superficial enough to just decide that because she's from L.A. and she comes from a well-off familt that she is somehow a "snot," I think you are much more a "snot" than she will ever be.

"But, I thought she was cold, flat, and unconnected for most of the time. And, this is coming from a performer."

I thought she was far more connected far more often than anyone else on the show. She was subtle, but real, and certainly not schtick or antics, which was all Taylor was. And she could sing ten times better than Taylor. She could really belt it out, but she could tone it down and be very exposed, too, something Taylor could never do. And, this is coming from a performer.

re: Bye, Bye Taylor Hicks

Okay. They can both sing. (In my opinion) They both seem to be nice people, I have no clue why someone would say she's a snot- I was at the Today show and there was this little girl who loved Kat. She was up on her Dad's shoulders when Kat was leaving and she started yelling "Katherine! Katherine!" Kat turned around and smiled, but when she saw the little girl she turned to her body guard guy and stopped him and she came over and signed for the little girl and talked to her. I don't think a "rich kid snot" would do that. Then she was at Spamalot on the 3rd. I was there too and they kept making references to her (ie-"we are now the knights who say ekki ekki ekki wpong pang somewhereee over the rainbow, you'll always be my american idol") so I figured she was there. As I was walking out of the theater there was girl in front of me who's hair looked just like hers and (you guessed it) it was her. I know most famous people don't want to be bothered if they are just trying to enjoy their night, but I decided it was worth a shot to just tell her she was great at the Today show, and then she even took a picture with me. She was as nice as could be so no one can say she's a "snot".

And that came from a person who made a Soul Patrol shirt and a sign for the Today show.

Taylor was really nice too, he took time to talk to people and he took tons of pictures with people. As far as I'm concerened they are both great people and I think they are both going to do well.

How about the evil glances she threw around whenever she didn't think the camera was on her? I think she's a phony. If she has any brain cell, she's going to be kind to her fans. Without them, she would have no career to speak of. Literally.

I think the general tone of her voice has a great quality. In fact, in the beginning stages, I thought she was pretty talented. She can't interpret a lyric to save her life, though. Her eyes are vacant when she sings. There is no life. Just having a pretty face doesn't give you presence, either. Presence is something that comes from within, and she ain't got it.

Paris... now there was a little ball of energy. Yes, she may be young and may have some maturing to do, but THAT was a class act. Right there. She owned every word she sang... and there was a certain truth to her performance. Kat's is all surface. And yes, she was indeed off key many nights. Maybe if she didn't strain her voice trying to sound like some X-Tina wannabe she would have been able to preserve it longer. I would have loved to hear her sing one note straight for a couple of bars. I honestly believe she had a clear, smooth tone that would be enjoyable to listen to if it wasn't all over the place ALL THE TIME.

Taylor Hicks is by far the most untalented winner of American Idol to date. And considering Ruben and Fantasia won, that's saying something...

Was there any song Taylor sang on American Idol in which he didn't miss at least a few notes? I can't recall any. He only won because he did the worm during his songs and has gray hair. That is pathetic.

This is why I think they need to revamp the voting system, unlimted votes?? c'mon, I know of people who actally couldn't get through on the phone and texted in over $100 worth of votes.

I think they should do a sell off or through I-tunes and all other download sites, a download off where people can buy ONE song and each person has ONE vote.

None other than Barbara Cook has said that she watches AI and her favorite all-time contestant is Fantasia. Fantasia, in her opinion, is the only contestant to ever interpret a lyric and she has great stage presence.

I did the impossible this year. I didn't watch AMERICAN FAWKING IDOL.

Except once...I was at an addicted friend's house and she forced me to watch it.

Watching Taylor Hicks I was gobsmacked....how did this moron get past the first round? This was pure office party karaoke and living proof that AI really should be cancelled.

Some people take it far too seriosuly. I take it for what's it worth. It's not about "real" talent. It's Amateur Hour. It's a show that the entire family can sit down and watch together and take part in. It's a diversion and its fun to watch, critique, argue and debate which of the marginally talented contestants should or will win.

Borstal...Yet any day of the week, I'd rather watch or listen to Taylor Hicks than say...50 Cent, The Pussycat Dolls, Simple Plan, or countless other crap acts being played on the radio. At least, on the bright side of things, it's giving people who most record labels wouldn't give even a first look based on purely superficial reasons some national exposure and the opportunity to make an album.

...right?

Hug away, soapguy. I'm not that much of a Hicks fan. I wasn't rooting for him to win until it came down to the final two. I was rooting for Chris all the way, and then Elliot after Chris left. I really don't take it very seriously, although admittedly, I enjoy stirring the pot.
