To be completely honest, I've 100% given up hope that I'll be getting vaccinated anytime soon even though I'm in the next eligible tier in my state. It's frustrating.

Dolly I will be 75 in August. You have a pair of bvd's older than that
74 is bad enough.

They lowered the age range in NY yesterday and the earliest appointment I could get was at the end of May. Am I missing something?

Are you trying all your options? I would think pharmacies, CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart are giving the vaccines. They are giving them out in other states. Grocery stores like Publix are also. You might have to look elsewhere, outside of the city.

Smooth, are you in the NYC area? If so check out www.turbovax.info
It constantly updates with available appointments. My neighbor tried for 2 weeks to get an appt and finally did and when she told me about it, it took me 30 mins and the next day I had my first shot.

Side note: Sondheim and John Weidman said in the Assassins reunion the other day that they both got fully vaccinated!!
I’m a healthy person in my early 20s, but I work in retail stores. I’m not really worried about getting sick so much as passing the virus to someone else. In my state (Illinois), I’m currently eligible to get the vaccine, but it’s impossible to get an appointment right now.

Posted: 3/11/21 at 1:11pmI used TurboVax to help find my appointment at Javits. I found out was eligible on a Wednesday, checked Turbovax on that Thursday morning, and had an appointment that Friday.

I like Alex Kulak's philosophy because it blends so nicely with epidemiology!

Posted: 3/12/21 at 6:32pmMy 2nd vaccination is scheduled for the morning of 3/31. Afterwards I will head to the Port Jefferson-Bridgeport ferry to ride across the Long Island Sound as a foot passenger. Nothing gives me a greater sense of freedom than riding on the upper deck. After lunch in Bridgeport I'll head back.

I got my first does of Pfizer at the Javits Center on Friday. It wasn’t long after till I started to feel a little lightheaded and had flu like symptoms. I knew that this could happen, and found out that the symptoms I was presenting are a good sign of the antibodies working. Symptoms were very mild on Friday, spent all day Saturday at home with heavy flu like symptoms. When Sunday came, felt fine. Hell I’d rather have flu like symptoms fir a day or two than die from covid.
Also, friendly reminder. Once you get your shot, it takes about two weeks to fully kick in. This is regardless of which one you have. So just be careful everybody

I got my first shot today. Moderna. I do feel a little worn out.

Posted: 3/15/21 at 9:23pmThat’s awesome, Dame. My Mom got her second Moderna yesterday and she said all she’s felt is just tired and has take a couple naps. I get my second next week and then my entire family will have been vaxxed which is just amazing.

I had success with the website below for finding a vaccination appointment. I live in the Atlanta area and had to drive to south Georgia because there were so many open appointments down there, but not around Atlanta (the site is for all states, not just GA). I checked back hourly to see what vaccination sites updated their appointment times and was able to get my first shot on my first day of eligibility this week! I definitely feel more of a sense of relief and hope now.

As a Californian in my 30s with (thankfully) no major health problems and who works in the private sector, I'm basically the last person in line to get vaccinated. That being said, I've been having a major case of vaccine envy this week as more and more of my friends and family members in other states get vaccinated. Scrolling through Instagram and Facebook it's now impossible to look at a picture of someone grinning with their CDC card and not think "Well how did THEY get it?!". Rationally I know it's a great thing for everyone as every newly vaccinated person puts us closer and closer to herd immunity.
Emotionally it's hard not to feel a little frustrated, especially as there have been rumors this week that California might not be able to open the vaccine supply up to the general public on May 1st, as President Biden instructed. The vaccine rollout here has been uneven at best and woefully incompetent at worst. The prospect of having to wait even longer until I can get it isn't something that fills me with joy. I'm fully anticipating that California will likely be one of, if not the last state to vaccinate the majority of its population, simply because there are so many people.
Rant over!

In my city, Jacksonville, at some locations, if you brought a senior to receive the vaccine, you were able to receive one also, regardless of age and health.

I hear you. I work in retail & witnessed all the hoarding last year & became 1 of the few places open in my area. NJ isn't opening it up to us until the 29th. Of course many of my older coworkers have gotten it already too, so I feel the same as you with just wanting to get it over with & slightly jealous.

For those of you who have questions re Co Vid shots here goes.
3_weeks ago had first Pfizer shot. No reaction at all. Yesterday had 2nd one. No reaction last night. This AM woke up feeling generally blah No fever but face around cheeks and eyes feel flush. Looking at hunkering down at home watching Prime and Netflix. Thank God no going into subway and commuting to work
Good luck to one and all.
