Pet peeve - frost on my windshield when I'm already running late on a Monday morning.
Otherwise, it's a good morning!

I can't hear you with my earmuffs on Shamey. What a pity...

Luckily, I can't hear you either.
I think I may have lost feeling in my fingers
Still sick. I've canceled all plans except the necessary ones.
Bergdorf's at 1:00, Shira?
I even canceled that one.
MEDIC!
Seriously. I'm self-medicating myself and thanking the good lord I have a refill on antibiotics. I've been "resting and drinking fluids" for 3 weeks now, and it's not getting me ANYWHERE.

I don't think a mojito counts as 'fluids' in this case.
LOL. I wish. Maybe I'll drink tequila all day. Alcohol kills germs.
I finally gave in yesterday and turned the heat on. Just a smidge. I was trying to hold out until November, but it just wasn't happening.
The 3 Billy's from Billy Elliot were on The Today Show. One of them tried to show Kathie Lee and the other woman the dance move that takes them in to a spin. It wasn't working for the ladies. The three boys are so cute!

No heat at school this morning. Very, very cold.
Another day off today - I have to take another week before the end of the year so I don't loose days when the new year kicks in.
Zander is singing to himself all over the house - it is kind of creepy and cute.
It is kind of cold here...
I just caught up with a friend from college who will be down in LA for Turkey Day - it will be nice to see her. I have a big old smile on my face now.

Is Moony still around? I have a train story now! Two actually.
Coming back home on Saturday, the train stops. We were between stations, but I have no idea how far we were from the next one or how far past the last. Of course, me and my wild imagination are envisioning several dire outcomes. Picture the old train robberies of yesteryear and yeah, that's where my mind's at. Though I probably updated the guys on horses pulling us over. That or another train, not knowing, slamming into us. We sit there for a while with nobody telling us anything, which of course, is pissing me off. Finally they announce that they're trying to fix something in the engine. Train starts up again, moves back a few feet and dies again.
Then they tell us that their fix is not working. NO! REALLY? We're going to wait for the train after us and transfer over to it. Then they start telling us that when this happens, not to touch either train. We could get electrocuted. WHAT???????? Are you kidding me?!
So we wait. Finally the other train gets there and they tell us they're going to evacuate car by car and to stay seated until they tell our car to go. They didn't want a mass exodus happening, obviously. Finally, it's my turn. We're all walking to the back of the train, through all the empty cars that had been evacuated already. That was kind of eerie, since most of them were dark. Ours still had lighting for some reason. We didn't have to worry about the electrocution part anymore, because I think they changed the way we were going to transfer. Originally, I think they were going to have the other train pull up next to us and climb over somehow. The way it happend was we had to climb down out of this train, then walk about 20 feet and get into the other one. Luckily, the transfer went off without a hitch. So my 4:07 arriving back at 5:06 arrived back at 7:09. Fun times!
Then yesterday, I take a train that's supposed to get in to Penn around 7:53. Euan's show's at 9:30. Plenty of time, right?
Have one more stop before getting into Penn, and the train stops. Again, I sit and wait. Finally an announcement that there's a problem with the Amtrak switch up ahead. A crew's coming out to check it now. Several more announcements, crew fixing it, inspection happening, got the okay to proceed slowly over it. Train pulls into Penn at 9:15!!
I had very bad train karma this weekend.

SEE?!?!?
This stuff happens to me all the time - usually in New Jersey. The only thing missing from your story is pouring rain/blizzard/high winds and no other train en route because of downed power lines. Midnight in the Trenton station is not a pretty sight.
So, did you make the concert on time or did you make a dramatic entrance?
And you all laugh at me for having concerns about traveling to NJ.
Girly, I hope the anti-rail people from the NW don't get a hold of your email.
I made it in time! Woo Hoo!! Got there about 9:30 on the dot. I figured I had a little leeway, since these things never seem to start right on time. Sort of like an actual Broadway show. My friends were already seated, so I walked right in to where they were. Since it looked like they were still seating people, I went downstairs to the ladies room real quick. There's another room that you have to walk through to get to the facilities, and Euan was standing there talking to someone when I walked in, so I knew I was okay with time. He waved when he saw me. When I walked back through to go upstairs, he said hi and that he'd be up soon. I was like, um, okay. Should I tell the room?
Yeah, we lucked out with weather. And that it was still a bit light out when this transfer was happening.
Deet, in all my years (no comments on age peoples!) of taking the train, this is only the 2nd and 3rd times of something happening. Weird that something happened two days in a row, though. The other time was in a snowstorm on the way to see A Christmas Carol at the MSG theatre. We had to transfer to a Path train cause of downed wires between Jersey City and Penn.
I'm taking the bus in later for the Cheyenne reading. As usual, I'm allowing plenty of time. Please. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

I'm just teasing ya, old woman.
I have plenty of horror stories from when I was commuting via the LIRR, and don't even get me started on the MTA. I seem to have permanent bad Subway karma.
