Of course. I'm sure I have that written down somewhere!
In other news...ERP.
"Of course. I'm sure I have that written down somewhere!"
Very convincing, Shira dear.
Nice, Shira.

Dang. With so much stuff going on, I totally spaced on that one. And there was even something about it on NPR yesterday.
Kids ... get thee to the Prospect Theater Co and see "Illyria" and report back.
I'm sure my grandfather is rolling over, okay?! The guilt has been set!
I'm returning both of your Veteran's Day gifts.
Yeah, yeah.
Ya know, I'm across the street from Bergdorf's right now. And I'm NOT going in.
DD - you want me to go to Brooklyn!?!
Yep.
It's a good show from what I hear. I'd love to be able to see it ...
WAIT ... it's not in Brooklyn.
It's at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th St. (not in Brooklyn according to Google maps.)

Our kids are not off for V-Day.
I just looked it up and noticed that, DD. Dammit.
I'll try, DD, I'll try. Problem is I'm not a fan of the director - I've seen several of her productions and I've always thought "how the hell is she so successful?"
Hm ... I understand.
Maybe I will see it, DD!
Somms, you do remember the Memorial Day thread in '07? It's not all about the sales and shopping, ya know! Someone might just jump in here and give you a piece of their mind. Cause you know if you don't post how you observe, that obviously means you didn't!

For you, DD...
There's a performance tomorrow morning at 11:00am, and since I'm off because of tonight's fundraising gala, I just got a ticket to that performance.
I'll let you know what I think.

My father is a WW II vet and I will certainly call him tomorrow.
Oh deet! That's awesome. Thank you! I wish I could transport myself and go with you!
We considered for a minute and a half heading to NYC for New Year's, since my nephew is going to be there. Unfortunately, ticket prices did not go down for that particular time.
Keep checking, DD.
Brd, my father is too - a Pearl Harbor survivor, in fact. I'll be calling tomorrow as well.

I was helping a young man out with visitation issues (not my expertise) and the mother is letting him see the baby!!! We lawyers are not always jerks.
A Great Uncle of mine was killed on the Western Front in WW1.
The family had differing recollections of the war service of this particular relative. So, I took it upon myself to find out the truth. Fortunately, that quest was served very nicely when the Australian War Museum and the Federal Government put all the war service records of WW1 troops and sailors and airmen online. I discovered that the family had mistaken quite a bit. So, for the truth. He had enlisted in August 1914, the first day enlistments were open in Melbourne. He was wounded on Gallipoli, wounded again in 1916 and received a field commission in January 1917. He nearly made it through the war, but was hit by stray artillery fire while taking sightings for a base of fire for his soldiers. That was at the Hindenberg Line just a month, or so before the end of the war. He was a man who went to war, served with honour. He was a soldier. He was a leader. He saw shockng things. He died. He was 22. He never lived to see the peace. He will be 22 forever.

GH, thanks for the nice post.
On Saturday I was speaking with a young father of four and had to spend a year in Iraq. So stupid that he lost a year with his children and wife because of this ill conceived war!
I have no idea why a particular word was ****ed out of my piece. I guarantee that the word was not an expletive and was a perfectly correct verb for the sentence. *sigh* Just so you know, it is a verb that begins with the letter P and ends with the letter K with several letters in between, namely... R. I. C. K. Big Brother is a little too vigilant today.

I guess the other use of the word. My sister called me that word when we were in high school and I slapped her. She now calls me it sometimes to make be feel bad!
I never knew your name was Rick.
