Deet - missed your post - who's YOUR new BFF. Oh wait - I just figured it out. How cool is that?!?
Mornin' All!
My dad served in the Navy during Vietnam. It's not really his favorite subject.
And I still don't know who his new BFF is!

Umm, can I phone a friend?
Mornin' Shamey!
Yeah, my dad rarely, if ever, speaks of his experiences in WWII - I only remember two instances - once on the 35th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor when he was driving me to some HS function or other he made a comment about it during a radio story marking the occasion. On the 60th Anniversary, I happened to be home with the radio on, and I heard him being interviewed - he said very little and was overcome with emotion.
Moony, the four of us should do lunch sometime! Wouldn't THAT be fun!?!

We'll book a table for six - the four of us and their two egos. Amigos, together.
My BFF is very humble, Moony. We had a lovely, down to earth chat while we waited for her limo.

Well mine is NOT humble - she'll be late, make a GRAND entrance and her ego will take up both seats and order champagne.
and she looked fabulous.

And that's why it will be FUN, Moony!

And by the way - I own of piece of your bff's jewlery. A lovely beaded necklace I bought from her at the Flea Market in 2007. I was there two hours before they opened and she was just setting up. We had a nice chat. I concur with your assessment of her!
And Tink is right - she does look fabulous! She's slimmed down quite a bit, and she's absolutely luminous.

A Rose is a Rose is a...oh, who are we kidding?
However, I had an epic battle getting into my tux last night. I did eventually win, but the terms of surrender were extremely uncomfortable. *sigh* At least nothing popped.

I know the uncomfortable feeling. Sigh.
Did you bid on anything at the auction?
Nope. But one of my friends at my table did - and and she won! J2 bid on a couple of things in the silent auction, but was outbid at the last minute on both of 'em.
Oh, and another luminous personality there - TINK! She looked GORGEOUS!

And the photos will be up....when?
awwww **blush** thanks, D2! You looked pretty snazzy yourself!
yeah, it's really fun when someone at your table is in a bidding war! I met a bunch of very lovely and comical people last night, including BritGuy, who is quite a trip! :)
Isn't he, Tink? He makes me look quiet and diplomatic!
lol! Yes, very true. Did they search his tote bag when he left? haha

Even I have a guess for the identity of "Rose."
Cold here, I had to drop C15 off early for cheer leading. Where did Mrs. Brd and I fail? I kid you not that I am going to a cheer competition this weekend!
Tink - you should have seen what was in that bag - it was like the Chinese restaurant scene in GYPSY and the nursery scene in MARY POPPINS in there!

That gave me a headache, but I'll take Daily for 1000 Alex

Brd - that's funny!
For Shamey - I hear Rose wore a dress that was very LACEY.
