How is Saturday?
Fabulous raclette dinner tonight; busy day tomorrow, gotta head to bed soon even though it's only 9:40 in "my" time zone.

So, the dinner party went well - thanks in large part to the FABULOUS dinner prepared by the TinMan. Amazing what a good meal can do to 'grease the wheels', so to speak.
Of course, the gorgeous presentation orchestrated by the other queen in residence didn't hurt
But, I did have to comment early on how no one wanted anything to do with each other - everyone found a space in separate rooms and hibernated. So I - the one who had no energy for this confluence in the first place - worked at bringing everyone together and having a reasonably good time.
Which is wonderful. And now, I want them all to leave. The TinMan and I need some SERIOUS down time!
Which would be possible if we didn't have the follow-up to all this nonsense (the return of the parents, and actually having to move BQ to San Diego) - not to mention the OTHER houseguests arriving in a week for a week.
Heroin - I swear that's my answer. Absolutely no one agrees, or is willing to help, but I'm SURE that's my answer.
In the meantime, scotch. Or bourbon. In quantity.
DD, didn't you think the Manchego cheese was even better than actual Raclette cheese? I'm always having it from now on! Tell Mrs. Kitt to make sure she tries it out at home.
I loved the cheese - don't recall the Raclette cheese, but that was fantastic last night.
Q - I have to join the chorus against heroin, sorry. The track marks are so unbecoming.
I'm a chorus girl by nature, so I'm with DD.
2 sleeps, isn't that the term used 'round these parts?
Q - I will never understand how or why you have so many house guests. It seems like you're running a B&B and should make some cash.

The houseguest situation just sort of happened. It certainly isn't because of my winning personality!
Gee, that's why I usually book at the Q & Tin Inn.
Q, just say no. To the heroin and the houseguests.
Yes, Shira. 2 MORE SLEEPS is right.
Happy Saturday, folks! Enjoy the day!

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
It happens to be a ridiculously beautiful day.
"Gee, that's why I usually book at the Q & Tin Inn."
Shira, you're on a roll! Have you ever considered a career as a comedy writer?
Big old MWAH to Q.
Beautiful day here. Off to do errands shortly, and then go for me freaky Asian herbs and acupuncture.
And Shira, you are on a roll...
Thanks guys.
YWIW - Er, yeah, that's creepy.
Now, as for my the comedy world, here's my standard reply for why I would never be a stand-up comic:
If I want to spend an hour talking to myself I'll call my psychologist.
As for comedy writing...well, that I never considered, mainly because I'm not a very good writer. I'm just quippy with big boobs so I'm an automatic hoot(er).
The Big old MWAH or the Asian herbs?
Asian herbs. We all give lots of MWAH around here. I just give lots of mouth.
I have been doing it for a couple of years - they help balance things out. I used to take some medications for a couple of things, and have not had to take them with the herbs.
Every month or so, I go back and he checks my body's balance - pressure points and other stuff I really don't understand but don't necessarily disbelieve, and creates a new concoction.
It works at getting yeast and other impurities out of the body, and returning it to what should be normal.
It has helped tremendously with joint and back pain as well.
No, I actually think it's awesome what you do. I'm just such a cynic by nature, but I absolutely believe and am thrilled that it has helped you so much.
It really helped my mom when she was sick.
The guy I go to is actually a Nice Jewish Boy I knew as a kid, who, like me, is fascinated with Asian culture. His offices are nice.
The acupuncturist I went to for the torn ligament in my shoulder was another story. He is great, but all the way in Pasadena, in an odd little office... But it avoided surgery, so I am not complaining.
Hey, You!
Shira, who said anything about stand-up? And as for the writing thing, you're too young to really know whether you're a good writer or not. People also can make quite a good living punching up the jokes in someone else's script. Think about it. (I'm trying to break into that myself, as a matter of fact.)
And as for stand-up, again I have to redirect your line of thinking: why not? Why perform for one person, who you are paying and will most likely not appreciate your wit without some kind of shrink-like commentary, when you can perform for a roomful of people who will most likely LOVE you and PAY to see you.
Hey D2!
Deet - We'll have to talk about, oh, how the HELL I would do that? I'll see you before I leave.
YWIW - Wait. A Nice Jewish Boy? Hmmmmmmm. Maybe I will consider this. Actually, if he can help my shoulder alignment, I'm in! Unless he needs me to hunch over for some reason.
If he needs you to hunch over then you really don't have chance with him anyway, Shira.
