My point exactly BEB.
DG...I'm so happy you thought of me when the Boys won. You know how much I adore that show and those boys.
And I too thought Julia's remark was very sincere and wonderful.
"I suppose it won't help if someone says, 'It's only the Tony Awards.'"
And goes on to say, "not the Superbowl."
Well, I wasn't exactly ranting; but I've been posting, just to fuel the fire. But, I actually did see all the nominated musicals (and revivals) this year. First time in a long time for that.
"Except that her name is LaChanze, isn't it?"
Exactly. I'm terrible with spelling. I know this. I always check. I don't see how people can write a post about who they are rooting for or against without taking the time to look up their names. I've seen people write/spell/capitalize LaChanze a dozen ways in the last two weeks.
What's with her and the one name? Who the hell does she think she is, Cher?

Yep, he's a bad speller, but I love him in spite of it.

Did anyone notice the person in the front row who seemed to be doing a lot of bopping during the musical numbers?
It isn't the one name, it's the capital L-a-capital C-h-a-n-z-e. It throws people. Like it's La Chanze instead of Lachanze. And everyone pronounces it differently because of it.
I personally prefer Rhonda...
YES gett..they were clapping and bopping to every musical number....especially during The Wedding Singer number.
LOL - GH, I didn't notice that person.
I'm REALLY going to have to watch it again!
I should have a viewing party - we can all giggle over the stuff that we know everyone is screaming about!

Is it sad that I want to see Wedding Singer?
Yes, I did notice that bopping guy. At first, I thought it was a weird camera angle and I was seeing the conductor; but then, that just didn't make any sense.

I think it was Shaiman.
Hah!
Oh, I totally noticed that, Hepster! Particularly during the numbers for Jersey Boys and Color Purple!
cheeze, you better get back soon if you want to see Wedding Singer!
cheeze, that made me laugh out LOUD!
Oh, oh! They started up with drums and whistles. Who needs sleep, right?
Addy..I thought it was that woman who saw every performance of The Boy from Oz. What was her name? Mable? She thought Hugh was hosting the Tonys this year.
I want to see The Wedding Singer again to see Kevin Cahoon!
I kinda' missed Hugh.

Haha - I have been in such a nutty mood lately!
Cookie - it's not going to tour? I mean...a trip back would be good...
who's on the team this year, Hepster?
I missed Hugh, too...
But, I do think it worked without a host.
Hugh should have just watched with me. I made a nice dinner and everything!
I'm sure you had Veuve too Addy..Hugh would've LOVED that.
I was sad that there was no Angela Lansbury sighting. Surely, they had room for a four-time winner in their list. I do hope she is not ill.
It was on ice, Boobs. Just in case...
Hep, I would have loved seeing her...
