Wait ... tink hiking the Appalachian Trail? OOOH ... do I have plans for your next trip out west.
Took jS kayaking yesterday, it was his first time ever. He had never wanted to go, and after we were done (2 1/2 hours!) he says: Now why didn't I do that before?
Deet - totally understand about letting go. I am in that same space, about to make one of those very tough decisions. Well, decision is made just have to follow through. Waiting for the right moment, yet as we all know there is never a right moment.

Oh gosh no! Actually, one of the Lawfully Wedded playwrights is fantastic and we're asking her to write the companion piece.
Can. Not. Wait. to read the revision.

It's on my life list!
However, in order to have a life list, it assumes one actually has a life. Someone needs to remind my clients... Was in the office until 1am last night. Thought we were going to lose power at one point. Boy, is this part of the city deserted in the wee hours.
Today is glorious. Or, it looks glorious, as I look at it from my office windows.
Kayaking sounds wonderful. Haven't done it in years.
I so want to see SUNDAY IN THE PARK in Chicago. It looks amazing. I have to be in Chicago twice in October for business. One of the trips definitely won't work, but I'm going to try my best to see if I can make it happen during the other trip. (Anyone want to join me??)
Hi, all. Miss you.

DD, I'm working on it with my favorite teacher. One more workshop class in November and it should be ready. I've already made some big changes, structurally as well as in the story-telling. I'm somewhat happy with it.
Addy, J2 and I are mulling over a weekend trip to Chicago to see it. Not sure if we can swing it, but I so would love to see this production.
And we're looking forward to SONG OF NORWAY next spring. It's so strange, because a few weeks ago we were talking about that show. I've only ever seen the movie ( shudder ) but J2 saw it at the Pittsburgh CLO when he was a kid. I said it would be a perfect vehicle for either ENCORES, Musicals Tonight!, or Collegiate Chorale.
And then VOILA! Jason Danieley posted about it on Facebook. So excited!

Deet, I'm so excited about it, also! Judy Kaye and Jason Danieley! And, I'm so excited that you're excited!!
Let's chat about Chicago. If we can both swing it, that would be wonderful to connect there.
DD, I've loved reading all of your FB updates on the amazing shows you're working on. SO happy for you!

DD - I was actually commenting while on the hike how I can't wait to get back to Seattle!!! :) I'm loving it. If weather is good Sunday I think we are heading out to do a longer (but not so steep) trail for the day.
SOMMS - I have a friend that did that, so amazing. I'm in awe, though doing the whole thing isn't on my list. I'm cool with just day trips, or even maybe one overnight, but more than that? nah. Biggest goal on my list in that respect is to hike the Rockies.

I like flying over the Rockies. So majestic. So beautiful. So comfortable.

I wouldn't mind a hike through some purple majesty. Instead, I'm stuck here doing my taxes. Before y'all panic, tax day is October 31 down here. But, I have meetings interstate at the start of October and just want to get it all finished. Bleh!
So, more discussion of beautiful vistas. Please!? So I can procrastinate.

Your Tax Day is on Halloween??? That's un-American!
Oh...wait. Nevermind. Still scary, though.
Can't say I've done much hiking lately, but I did a good amount of ocean kayaking in July. I don't care for placid water kayaking as much as skipping over the waves and being surrounded by dolphons and harbor seals.
Hep - did your kitchen reno get finished?

Thanks Addy! It’s been a bit crazy, but so much fun. Lawfully Wedded has been quite special.
Tink – it makes my heart happy to hear that! We have so many options for hikes, flat, steep, lakes, rivers … can’t wait to lure you back. Maybe I should do Chess again. *ponders*
Moony – I am scared of sea kayaking, especially around here. The currents on the sound can be pretty strong. It would be cool to run into an orca or something though …
Hep - summer's just around the corner for you!

Moony, the cabinetry is in. We are waiting for the benchtop stone to be cut to order and a few other trifles, then the appliances and flooring and voila. Today is the plasterer's turn.
DD, can't wait for summer! It is chill and grey and most un-springlike this morning.

G'morning.
I have a morning full of meetings too, then class and a writing workshop tonight. A very long day.
I hate those.

Well, that makes three of us in meetings, although mine are only this morning - not that many are around here in the afternoon.
So nice to see the sun after Tuesday. Crispy,, cool temps, too!
By the way, is anyone else here off on Columbus Day?

Hallo.
Columbus Day? Why on earth would they give us off on that day? I get six set holidays in this joint. New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anything else is on me.
But...I have a job. For the moment.

I'm with Girly - I just get the basics, though now we close the full week btwn Christmas-New Years.
Morning.
It'll be a crazy day at work as we start a major install at yet another large store lobby in Midtown. Slowly taking it all over, lol. BTW - anyone happen to be in Macys Herald Square recently? We are about 50% finished with year 1's work but I have only seen it from pictures.
And then kickboxing and then Giants! fun.

I breezed through the other day -- I often cut through the store to get from 7th Avenue to Broadway/6th Avenue. The main floor is still pretty much under construction -- I didn't really pay attention, I was just kind of aware that they're going with an all-white motif, it seems.
I'll check it out later, as I'll be in the 'hood this afternoon.
What exactly am I looking for?

Haha, I'm not quite sure. Lots of TVs and cool LED boards. I'm pretty sure the big massive shoe renovation is complete.
I know at 8 other priority Macys in the country we just did phase one of the virtual mannequin project, so there are 4 in each of the stores and seem to be getting a pretty good reaction. Which is good cause I enjoy getting a paycheck every two weeks.

#4646Can the Adults Please Smoke? Thursday

They are two 46" monitors stacked portrait style in an enclosure and they can update the content all throughout the day to showcase all different designers and looks and never have to pay someone to go physically change the clothes on a mannequin. The ultimate goal if this is a success is to make them interactive so that you can go up and change the color of the shirt, etc, and order right from the mannequin if they don't have your size in stock, etc.

We've been working on the concept and execution for about a year or so (finding the right screens to work, enclosures that look sleek, etc). Lots of interest from a lot of big companies, but their eyes are often bigger than their mouths and its not in their budgets. But it will definitely take off soon and you'll see some style of it in a lot of places.
Once in a while I get something cool to work on, lol.
Actually the lobby/store we are starting today is going to be pretty damn cool as well. I don't quite understand why this particular brand needs this massive technology infusion, but as long as they pay the bills I don't really question.
