Good morning peeps and peepers.
Boobsie, I watched the housewives of BH hiss and spit at each other. It was not depressing. Then I watched SMASH. So far, so good.
I'm unabashedly on the SMASH bandwagon.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.
Madness around the office today. Only one way in and out of my building and VERY tight security. But, all good crazy fun!

I'd love to be down in your part of the city today, Addy - what fun! Actually, I'd like to be in any part of the city!
Sat down to catch "a few minutes" of Smash last night and couldn't turn it off - even though I was recording it. Very well done.
And have I ever mentioned how much I hate prednisone? It's doing its job, but I've put on 3.5 pounds since Saturday - all water weight. They said I could expect a 10 - 20 pound increase during the course iof the treatment and it won't come falling back off for months. Ugh. So much for Weight watchers. I nned a donut.
Wish you were here, too, Moony.
Prednisone is tough stuff. It does the job but it takes a toll. Hang in there! And hope you're feeling better.
I downloaded the songs from last night's show. I have 'Let Me Be Your Star' playing over and over. Love it.
I DVR "SMASH", so if last night was the pilot then I already saw it. You know I'm already drawn in. I love the cast, so I'll be a true Smasher!
Mornin'
I LOVED SMASH!!!
A friend of mine on Facebook most decidedly did not. There should be some very interesting discussions over the podium.
Morning.
I did not dislike SMASH, but I did not have the "OMG" reaction I was really hoping for. But like I said on FB, I also just really have no real interest in Marilyn Monroe either so I'm sure that has a large part to play in it. but YAY for theater actors popping up all over the pilot!!!
I did enjoy girly's The Voice. Everytime someone gave the "i gave up my life for this - my kid doesn't even have health insurance, blah blah blah" sob story and they got rejected, I laughed. Christina A needs to be sedated, but I love the Adam/Blake bromance.
I saw that Deetie. I loved his 'another Brit' comment. Miss Messing grinning and affirming throughout the auditions did drive me crazy.
Well, as I just replied: in theater parlance, it worked.
BTW: Tink, despite your disinterest in Marilyn Monroe, try to see "My Week With Marilyn." It probably won't change your mind about her -- and it doesn't need to -- but it is an exquisitely touching film with an extraordinary performance from Michelle Williams. It makes Monroe human. No small feat.
D2 - I have heard good things about that movie. I also want to see The Artist.
I'll just sit by and be content to have BDJ on the screen.
"The Artist" is my new obsession. 3 times and counting. How Tink was on Sunday is how I'm going to be on Oscar night.
Should I host a party?

I need to see both of those movies.
I actually liked Debra Messing a lot better than I expected. I actually didn't take to the music as well as I had expected. I may watch it again tonight.
Well, D2, I checked and my local theater has it. It's my free movie ticket night, so as long as they have it available I think I will be seeing it tonight.
"The Artist?" or "My Week With Marilyn?"
"The Artist"
Um, the basking is NOT over. The freakin' parade is today. And Moony declared it Victory WEEK.
Yeah, I'm in that kind of mood today. After some NYer nearly took MY side of the car off and tried to run me off the road this morning. IDJIT.
Tink, Adam and Blake crack me up. My neighbors had to have heard me a couple times last night. I know I gave a couple shouts of laughter at various parts throughout the show.

I'm hoping to watch either "The Artist" or "War Horse" tonight. It all depends if I get my chores done at a resonable hour. I can't be staying up too late because that 5:30 alarm kills me!
I need to get started.

The crowd outside is massive! The office is filled with the sound of cheers, horns and merriment (crazy merriment!). And I'm on the 27th floor. Honestly, it's an incredible crowd.
I had to go through 3 police checkpoints on my way into the office this morning. Building ID firmly in hand, I made it through a sea of people who started lining up last night. Glad the weather is cooperating!
I remember how crazy it was when I worked at 2 Broadway and they would have ticker tape parades. Those were the days when they didn't check badges in the buildings. Crowds used to come into out lobby to get warm or cool. Insanity! I miss those days
It is alot of fun...
On the subject of movies, I have alot of them to catch up on. I've missed most of the ones garnering the most buzz. I have to schedule a marathon day in the theatre.

I'm soaking up what atmosphere I can by watching NY1 on my computer. So glad the weather is holding up!
One of my coworkers is there and a bunch of other people I know. I was invited but declined. I've successfully been to one Yankees parade and was physically there for the last one but couldnt get anywhere near the street. To me, the idea of standing on a street for hours to cheer for 15 minutes with a bunch of drunk people is not appealing. Someone told me then I am not a true fan, but I think that is BS. I just have better things to do with my PTO days. If anything, I would have gone to the Metlife stadium celebration (I am one of those - the Giants are a NJ team, not a NYC team) but then again, going to sit in the nosebleed seats to listen to people who look like ants? I'll watch the TV coverage.
