And you've got a 3 day weekend to help you recuperate!
Good Morning all! Happy Friday.
Anyone know how to get rid of an under eye twitch? just started this morning and is really annoying.

Lots of alcohol. Unless that's what's causing it.
lol I have very very limited alcohol consumption lately (maybe 1 - 2 beers a weekend)
I hate getting in the office for a 7:30 call, only to have it end after 12 minutes. Ratbastards!

Go out for breakfast.
On the company dime!
BritTwit has reared his ugly head again. Apparently a friend of his wants to do a reading of the Hepburn plece.
For someone who has made it abundantly clear he "has absolutely nothing" to say to me (his words), I'm getting an awful lot of annoying emails from him.
I so want to respond "drop dead" to most of them, but I will remain a gentleman and just vent here, if you don't mind. Thank you.

Vent away! We never liked him anyway. Here's hoping he never joins BWW.

Happy Friday! Do any of you see Shira around? Did she finish school?
Mornin'
Brd, she still posts here occasionally under the screen name Amuse Bouche.
But just to catch you up: yes, she's graduated, she's moved back to L.A. and is apparently going all Hollywood now.
Oh crap, double post.
So: we saw MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG last night -- I agree with Addy. I liked it, didn't love it. The score is brilliant and it was brilliantly performed by cast and orchestra. But the two consistent problems with the show were exacerbated rather than solved by this production.
1. Like Sondheim's ROAD SHOW, all attempts to fix a book that can actually work (the Donmar Warehouse production in London proved that) have resulted in an even bigger mish-mash than before. It's not that the story moves backwards in time, it's the attempts to "improve" it that have gone backwards.
2. The characters are essentially unsympathetic and unlikable -- a problem that can be solved by the performances (again I cite the Donmar production). Unfortunately, as good as everyone was last night (I especially liked Celia Keenan Bolger), they weren't able to overcome that major flaw in the script.
But the final scene was just gorgeous-- moving, heartbreaking, beautifully realized, and "Our Time" just killed me -- I wish the whole show had been on that level.
Morning all. I'm one of the suckers that had to work today.
Deet - you summed it up. I agree with your review points. That last scene, though, was a thing of beauty.
I'm not supposed to be in the office today, but the client is open, so, in I go. I'm working from home this morning, but will head in later.
We start rehearsals for MIKADO tonight. Fun!
Tink, hope the day isn't too busy for you.
I'm on a Downton high this morning :)
Happy Monday.
Good morning, all. I'm doing housework and laundry -- it's a downstairs Downton day.
I recorded the christmas special last night. I am gonna start S2 via pbs.org today at lunch. A part of me can't wait to devour S2, but the other part wants to hold off awhile and savor it. I was proclaiming its greatness to several people this weekend, lol.
I did rewatch Smash as well. Maybe I have to stop watching it Monday nights as I'm tired. I didn't mind it as much when I watched it during the day. Still not in love with it, but liking it more.

Afternoon, all!
I started the day by cleaning out several closets, then moved on to cleaning out the car. I need to transport 40 (yes, forty) King Cakes from a bakery to school this afternoon, so I hsve no room for crap in the car.
And that's when I lost my car keys. Sigh.....
Anyone hear from Moony? Were the keys found? Were the cakes delivered?
Mornin'
Good morning and happy fasnacht day!
Oh, and, I can't wait to hear this story.

Laissez les bon temps roulez!!!!!
It's party time!!! Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!!
1) Managed to fit all the cakes in my car (trunk, back seat, front seat) because the students who were SUPPOSED to help me never showed up. See if THEY get any cake!
2) The keys, along with my hairbrush, were sitting on my bed. I have no idea when and/or how they got there, so don't even ask. It keeps my life interesting, ya know?
Did all 40 cakes make it to school, Moony?
Or was there an "accident?"

Oh, all 40 made it. I might have purchased a few extra, though. Might.
Beignets, anyone?
